Chapter 17

Peat opened his eyes, gasping.

Nightmares against nightmares. Dreams whirling and suffocating him in his sleep.

He looked at his side and saw Fort. Fort was staring back at him, his face evident of worry.

"Are you okay, phi?" he asked, his soft voice soothed every part of him.

"I dreamt of that night again," Peat said after a while. Fort watched him and pulled him in an embrace. "I thought I would not feel that way again but the dreams felt real,"

"It's over now, phi," Fort brushed Peat's hair with his hand. "It's over,"

"Oh..." Peat closed his eyes. He was still trembling after the dreams but this embrace was everything. Fort's soft breath and his scent ensured him that the younger man was real and here with him.

It had been months since the incident at the hotel.

After the incident in the small room, they ran towards the media staffs and told them what's going on. They were the ones who brought them back to the police station to report the incident and then were able to seek treatment at a nearby hospital. The irony of it still burns. 

It was chaotic that night. The media staffs who were present was able to take pictures of Ben running amok behind Peat and Fort. It was quite a story.

Then everything unfolded. Incidents behind Director Anne's drama shootings were revealed, and Peat had to come clean. Introductions and promotions for the movie were set back behind to let Peat settled his personal issue with Ben. Evidence of Ben being Fort and Peat's stalker all this time were revealed after the police raided his place.

Fort was beside Peat all the time that the turmoil happened. He accompanied Peat to the police, and Peat was by his side when he confronted the lady that was Ben's aunt and the one who started all this.

There were tonnes of press conferences that both had to attend just to clarify things to the public. Peat even had to take a social media break just to make sure his mental health was alright for a while before he needs to agree for doing promotion for Director Anne's movie. The fans were divided again but mostly were supportive of Peat's decision to report Ben and reveal what really happened during the shooting.

Most importantly the fans were happy when Fort was back again beside Peat.

Fort told him again that being away with Peat was devastating. When he asked the cyber security specialist to track Ben down and noted what Ben did during the shooting Fort was waiting patiently behind the curtain that the specialist set up for Fort to keep an eye on Peat. Fort was silently observing Peat with some detective help and he broke down too when he noticed Peat was hurting.

He saw Peat suffering alone in his car, crying and trying to act tough in front of others. He wanted to be the first person that Peat turned to when he's in distress. He wanted to hold Peat and not let go and swore himself that this would be the last time he would do anything this stupid. It's killing him to watch his favourite person suffered and when Peat sent him the safe word he came back flying.

He watched Peat beside him when they were inside the studio again.

He's ready for another journey with Peat.

He didn't know how long their relationship would last but up until the time finally comes, he would always be by Peat's side. He would never leave again. He wouldn't want to be forced to leave again.

He took Peat's hand and the older man turned to him.

They smiled at each other.

Fort could feel his heart bloom. Peat's smile was the one he's willing to die for.
