As heartless as she wanted to be, Venus could not shake the impact of watching children die.

The buzzer sounded immediately as the flurry of snakes trampled over Wovey's body. The snakes hissing, aiming for the handful of tributes remaining in the Arena. There had to be hundreds of them squirming about the rocky ground with death and demolition in their genetic code. Mizzen was the next to be attacked, begging for Coral to help, to which the girl continued to run in the opposite direction.

Another buzzer went off and while it grew annoying after a while, Venus prayed the next would be for Lucy Gray.

Remaining in the makeshift graveyard he curated, Reaper stood his ground. On his knees, he allowed the slimy creatures to weave themselves on his body. Only closing his eyes as they swirled around his face. His large frame fell to the side, another buzzer sounding off in the Hall.

Everyone nervously viewed the large monitor as Coral called out to Lucy Gray. The red headed girl was crying, a few snakes slithering onto her body but still she refused to accept her fate. Holding out an arm, she pleaded for help. Lucy Gray tried placing as much distance from herself and the girl as her heart thudded loudly.

"Lucy Gray, I'm begging you!" Coral sobbed. "It's not fair. It's not. I can't have killed them all for nothing."

Venus hung her head, taking a deep breath as the weight of Coral's words hit her full force. The District girl was right. Nothing about the Games was fair. You could last up until the end, kill the most amount of tributes, and still if you made one wrong move you would lose.

Venus knew that better than anybody in this room.

The snakes wrapped around the girls neck in effort to suffocate her. The strongest of the two remaining tributes was now ready to accept her death. Letting go of the stone, she allowed her body to slide into the pit of colorful creatures awaiting her. They enveloped her whole, the only remaining part of Coral to be seen was her arm going limp.

The buzzer hit once more, Festus stunned in shock that he refused to move from the mentors pool. Coriolanus studied the screen, there were no more tributes left. Lucy Gray, his tribute, had won the Games. The Plinth prize would be his, he would be able to go to University, he might be able to save Venus.

"She's .... she's won." He chuckled. "It's over. It's over, she's won. Let her out." He ordered Lucky Flickerman.

The man turned, shaking his head and lowering his mic. "Afraid that's not your call to make, Mr. Snow." He pointed up at the stands, Coriolanus following his view only to be met with Dr. Gaul in the flesh.

Venus wondered what the two of them were glancing at, taking a few steps further, she turned to see the Mad Scientist grimacing. She was fresh from her segment at Capitol News and Venus had no doubt the woman was truly here for her. With nothing left to lose, the girl returned to the mentors section.
