I let you rest on my balcony to let your wounds heal in a safe place.
Away from the dangers of the midnight forest.
Hunted for sport, you claimed to be the last of your kind.
Forever hidden away before vulnerability drew you out.
Claws as sharp as knives and eyes as bright as a full moon.
Skin hidden by fur and scales.
Truly a beast in the shadows that one would expect to be waiting for an opportunity to strike.
Yet, you offered flowers so gently on my doorstep.
You were never a beast.
Simply a creature misunderstood.
You.
Be careful out there.
The world is no place for us.
