I ran faster and faster, pumping my legs like one of those world championship stallions at a race. As I ran however, I mentally berated myself for if I was going to be even one minute late to my first day at school? The same world that I wished to live in so many times before in my childhood? I was going to kill someone.
Just as the bell rang however, I slid into the classroom, smoothly opening the door just like in those movies. I panted heavily, so heavily in fact that you could've compared me to a dog in the summer.
My legs ached, my arms too and my heart felt like it was going to shatter my spine by how fast it was beating but I had made it. Just in the nick of time too, with just a singular second to spare before it turned to nine thirty one.
As I struggled to regulate my breathing however, the teacher looked me straight in the eye and single handedly- with only two words- crushed my world.
"You're late."
And that was when everything went to hell.
