Mrs. Kim stood before the mirror, the flowing bridal gown draped elegantly around her figure, with Soomin beside her.
The shop attendant, captivated by the vision before them, couldn't help but shower Mrs. Kim with compliments on how the dress radiantly complemented her essence.
Yet, Mrs. Kim hesitated, yearning for the opinion of someone who understood what truly suited her best.
That person, however, wasn't there.
"Soomin, do you think this makes me look fat?" Mrs. Kim inquired.
The young girl, quick to reassure, vigorously shook her head.
"No way! It's absolutely perfect for you...mom," Soomin declared, prompting Mrs. Kim to turn her face towards her with wide-eyed surprise, a blossoming smile breaking across her features.
Hugging Soomin, Mrs. Kim couldn't contain her smile.
"It's the first time you've called me 'mom.' Thank you, thank you for giving me this chance," she expressed.
Soomin returned the smile, reciprocating the embrace with equal warmth.
"Okay, now, do you think I should get this dress?" Mrs. Kim inquired, gently breaking the hug.
"Definitely!" Soomin affirmed.
"But a dress that accentuates your waist would be better."
A voice interjected, prompting both Mrs. Kim and Soomin to turn their faces towards the source of the comment.
"Ara..." Her mom smiled, wasting no time, quickly making her way to her and enveloping her in a tight hug.
"I'm truly sorry, Ara. The words I spoke were hurtful, and I deeply regret them," she confessed.
"Mom, let's forget about this. Today is all about you and finding the perfect wedding dress. Let's make this choice together, alright?" she proposed, a gentle smile on her face.
"Oh, yes," Mrs. Kim replied, her voice tinged with emotion as she fought back tears, determined not to let them fall.
"After we're done with the shopping, I'll share everything with you. We haven't had the chance to talk, to discuss how it all happened, how I met Jaejun. But today, you'll know everything," she promised, her hands tenderly caressing Ara's.
And there it happened. The three of them, side by side, picked out a gorgeous dress.
The long-sleeve sheath wedding gown was a sight to behold, covered in shimmering appliques that graced every inch. The chapel train, with its open lace trim, added a touch of elegance, while the V-back detail created a subtle yet enchanting charm.
