Four moons had passed after the battle, before Daenaera was bid go on tour for her own betrothal. Ser Criston was sent to the Stepstones once the King realized she had gone, he knew he could not force her back. Viserys let her be, he allowed her to stay in the Stepstones with his brother. These four months were some of the best, since Viserys had wed Alicent Hightower.

Her and Daemon spent much time together, he would read to her and tell her stories, and just be in her company. They rode side by side on dragonback and drank ale together, the two had been inseparable. Daemon even offered to teach her the way of the sword, which Daenaera was most excited of. She had been training nearly every day to be able to fight her enemies, just as any knight would. "You have me. You do not need to protect yourself, Princess." Ser Criston commented. Ser Criston was there protecting the princess, day and night, he even slept in the room over from her. The knight was slow to trust and cared immensely for the Princess.

On the night of Daenaera departure, Daemon did not seem to be in high spirits, he would not admit it, but Daenaera's leaving had impacted him. He had grown closer to her than ever, and very fond of the Princess of Dragonstone. He left dinner without saying a word, Daenaera did not follow him out, she finished her meal and readied for bed. She was to leave at daybreak, She was to go to Casterly Rock first, Ser Criston had sailed to meet her there. He left her earlier that day.
