Time had changed them all, that much was apparent, Daenaera noticed as she stared across at her uncle. Time had not faded his good looks, nor his wandering eyes. It was the funeral of his own wife and he was eyeing both Daenaera and Rhaenyra, but more so Daenaera. As much as she wanted to resent him for the part he played in her near destruction, she couldn't. He had just lost his wife, and she held no more ill will towards her Uncle. She would even dare say she missed him, or the image of the person she thought he was.

Daenaera's heart had always belonged to Alicent for as long as she could remember. Yet, she had never felt anything for any man apart from Daemon. She had given herself to him in a moment of weakness. She wanted a life with him, a life that was never hers, only because she knew she could never have the life she truly wanted with Alicent. Her life with Alicent consisted of sneaking in the shadows, praying to the Gods that they were never caught.

That part of her life was over, she had chosen Alicent over Daemon and he would never of accepted their relationship as Laenor had. She loved her husband and the family they had built, she would change it for nothing in the world. It was for the better that Daemon had betrayed Daenaera, she was glad it happened. It showed her that betrayal can come from even those we hold dearest.
