There are worse tragedies in life. There's war and there's hunger and there's death and there's grief.

But you. You are my tragedy.

I am sorry I can't give you the life you wanted for me. But I will no longer change myself just so you could see me.

I will no longer hide parts of myself that I think are unlovable to you.

And I will no longer abandon myself the way you abandoned me.

I can be loved the way I am supposed to be loved. I am loved. Thankfully, there are two people in my life who have shown me kindness and gentleness. The love that you were supposed to give me.

Let me rest and heal with the violence you gave me instead. I'll see you when I can.
