a bright eyed child sat on her floor
as she listened in to the world
she couldn't help but wonder what was said behind closed doors
what phrases she let best effect her and which ones she left unheard.
but at last her curiosity won the war
and she pressed her ear between the crack in the door
and suddenly the world turned upside down.
and she cried as she fell to her floor
suddenly she wasn't listening anymore.
