FIRST PERSON POINT OF VIEW

Some minutes had passed since I left Wales office. It was a very long meeting for my taste. Now, Cleveland walks beside me to give me a small tour.

Cleveland: I didn't expect you to be the successor of my younger sister. I guess you'd be like my little sister's daughter, right?

Me: No, I'm simply the predecessor of your sister. We don't have a blood relation.

Cleveland: But you share the same name, right?

Me: Well, yes.

Cleveland: Can I call you niece?

Me:Niece?

Cleveland: (Smiles) Yes, may I?

Me: If you like, go ahead.

Cleveland: Thank you.

Then she hugs me. Cleveland's attitude reminds me a lot of my friend's. Does she have a tomboy complex? If she didn't have long hair and a skirt, I might mistake her for a man.

Cleveland: I can't wait to introduce you to my sisters.

Me: Where are your sisters right now?

Cleveland: They're at the base in San Diego. They cant come here until a few months later.

Me: I see.

Cleveland: Despite being my little sister's successor, you're very reserved. My sister is very energetic and likes to talk a lot.

Me: I'm introverted. I only speak when necessary and socialize as little as necessary.

Cleveland: I understand now.

An uncomfortable silence fills the room. Before my demise, I only worked and never socialized. Because of work, I forgot how to socialize. In the past, when I was an elementary and high school student, I was friends with the entire class. I even made friends easily in other classrooms. How did I become a person who speaks only when necessary?

Cleveland: What do you like to do in your free time?

Me: It's something I have to figure out, but I think reading encyclopedias, novels, and newspapers will be for the time being. My commander likes to read a lot.

Cleveland: That sounds interesting. Reading is a good way to spend your free time. You might discover new interests along the way.

Me: (Uncertain) What's going on?

I feel like Cleveland is looking at me with a lot of doubt and suspicion.

Cleveland: No, it's nothing. It's just for some strange reason, I find it difficult to talk to you.

Me: That's strange. Didn't you say you could talk to many of the girls without any problems?

Cleveland: Yes.

Cleveland guided me through the base. It was fun to walk alongside her. Initially, she had a lot of trouble conversing with me, but eventually, she got used to it, and we talked normally. In the end, we reached the residential area where all the Kansen sleep. There's an exclusive zone for the Royal Navy and another for the Eagle Union. I've also seen other buildings; according to Cleveland, those places were reserved for the Sakura Empire and Iron Blood. However, those areas were abandoned after those factions turned hostile towards Azur Lane, and diplomatic relations worsened.

Me: I guess diplomacy is very difficult.

Cleveland: You're right.

After that, she guides me to my room on the third floor since most of the rooms were already occupied. The nameplate for my room will take some time until my service is legalized.

Cleveland: Well, I hope you enjoy the Royal Navy-themed room.

Me: Style like the Royal Navy?

Cleveland: Yes, Queen Elizabeth invested a lot of her capital in this base, which is why it was designed as a Royal Navy-style base.

I understand... (How much did that queen donate for them to build this base?)

Cleveland: Well, I'm leaving now, I have a lot of work to do.

Me: Yes, thank you very much for the guidance at this base, see you later.

Then we say goodbye and I enter my room, and just as Cleveland told me, it is a room in the style of the Royal Navy. The room has a very European-style bed, there is a beautiful wooden wardrobe. I continue inspecting the room and enter the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom, I realize that it is a very spacious personal bathroom. I didn't know if I was in a naval base or a hotel. There is also a shower and a bathtub.

Me: (Excited) This is incredible!

But despite being very excited, my body was very fatigued. I don't even have the energy to jump for joy. I just want to wash off the sea salt from my body and go to sleep. Today was a very long and complicated day for me. So, I undress and step into the shower to bathe. I was tired of the salty water. After bathing, I dry myself with a towel and leave the bathroom. I've left my clothes washing in the washing machine. If I forgot to mention, there's a washing machine in the bathroom, which saved me a lot of work. Since I don't have any clothes, I lie down on the bed naked.

Tomorrow I have to buy new clothes... now that I think about it, I haven't checked the wardrobe of my submarine and I haven't confirmed if I have a spare set of my combat uniform.

Thinking about all this, I fall asleep.
