POV: Saiki Kusuo

Teacher: Everyone, congratulate Akechi Touma for winning the National Debate Tournament.

Akechi: Thank you for telling everyone about my accomplishment. It sure was rough being in the United States this whole time. Actually, the United States wasn't that bad. Everyone there is so relaxed, a lot of races and cultures too, really expanded my worldview during my trip there. It's just that I miss Japan. It was my birthplace of origin after all. That's mainly the reason why I've been absent for a while. It's not like the writer forgot about me, remembered halfway but realised how bothersome my dialogue is with me being talkative-

Teacher: Everyone clap!

Even the teacher doesn't want to drag it out.

Akechi walked past me to sit down and wanted to greet me.

A: Kusuo-kun! It's good to see you!

I look to Akechi and he immediately continued.

A: What's this? You're looking at me eye to eye? You usually look through me with no interest. I didn't expect you to be invested in my presence. You've really changed from the last time I've seen you. I wonder what was the reason, you don't strike me as someone that changes easily, must've been something major that's impacting your life, like a self reflection or a new rela-

Teacher: Akechi-san, sit down.

A: I'm sorry sensei, I havent seen a friend of mine in a long while, and I noticed hes pretty different from before. I don't want to feel left out by everyone just because of my absence. So I figured I wanted to know the reason behind-

Teacher: Akechi-san you're still not sitting down.

A: Ah, yes I'm sorry.

One stare and he almost figured me out. He's still as scarily sharp as ever.

After classes, I am now facing an Akechi Touma staring at me intently. The last person that did this was Kokomi, and I don't have to tell you which one I prefer. I just stare at him and he started,

A: There it is again. Your interested and curious stare. You don't see me like I'm a nuisance. You're actually viewing me as a human being. So what changed Saiki? Is it a self reflection? A mission of self improvement? or is it a side effect of a new relationship?

S:...It's for self improvement.

My first verbal words to him caused him to turn silent in surprise. That's a first.

A: Did you just talk to me with your mouth?! You usually just comminucate to me through tele-

I quickly slapped my hand to his mouth. After his mouth stopped moving, which took longer than it should, I let go.

A: Ah, my apologies, it's been a while. I forgot about your abilities. It's been a while I've talked to you after all. You know when a memory is remain unused it does stay in your mind but it's in an inactive archive so it wasn't readily available for me to applicate-

S: *You're changing the subject.*

A: Ah, sorry, what was my previous subject? That's right, it's very surprising that you talked to me verbally. You usually let your actions do the talking. And mostly you don't want to continue a conversation. You even want to end a conversation as fast as possible. I did not expect your social change from being very antisocial to functionally social. Especially in high school, when change of personality can be intimidating because it changes present relationships that matters more to high schoolers than other groups of people. So as jarring as it is, it's admirable that you're changing for the better,
