Chapter 8: the lunch table

9/17/23 Monday, Lunch time—

The high schoolers fill the cafeteria fighting for the first pizza slice or a seat next to their friends.
Bowie walks out the lunch line and walks over to his usual seat with Emma and MK straight in the middle of the lunch room.
"Heyy girls" he waves walking over
Emma waves back smiling, "hey bows!"
Bowie sits down, "wow rude MK not even glance?" Bowie said jokingly.
MK sitting across from Bowie and Emma was writing on a worksheet, she had a confused and stressed look on her face.
"She pissed off Mr. Mclean so as punishment he gave her extra homework." Emma looked worriedly at the stressed girl
"Yeah I was there, I told her to shut up" Bowie said crossing his arms "she has to turn it in at the end of the day so it really isn't homework" Bowie did feel bad, he wished MK knew when to shut up.
MK slammed her fist on the table making her can of fruit roll off the table. MK screamed in frustration, "WHY IS SOCIAL STUDIES SO HARD?!" She pinched at her skin to take the anger out.
"Mk girl, you need to chill your gonna end up shitting urself" Bowie reached over and out his long hand on her cold hand.
..
"Hey you dropped this" a tall muscular blond stood over MK holding out the dropped can
MK grabbed the can and looked away
Bowie and Emma looked at eachother
No one said it but telepathicly Bowie told em to make a move.
"I'm sorry," Emma stood up to face the hockey Jock, " MKs not very good at Manners, love hee though!" She shoots MK a warm smile
"No big deal eh! Me and my buddy Raj were just walking around for a place to sit"
After he says this a shorter Indian walked over,
"This is my bud Raj!" The blond pulls Raj in, Raj gives a big smile and waves, "I'm Wayne by the way"
"Well Raj and Wayne, would you like to sit with  us?" Bowie asked smirking
Raj and Wayne agreed they both sat next to MK
"Are you having trouble with your social studies eh?" Wayne asked
MK just looked up at him obviously annoyed but he got the memo that 'yes I didn't know'
"Well uh I usually ask Julia she's real smart!"
"Anyone's smarter then you." MK said pulling her phone that's on goddamn life support like omfg Jesus has had to own in before her.

J: the switch up is crazy

M: I need ur help with ss work
J: come to the bathroom then
M: just come in here
J: no, I fucking hate the cafeteria
M: Please

A few moments later Julia popped up into the cafeteria, she sat on the left of MK

The table was louder then ever laughing, screaming, taking, hell even Julia enjoyed her time.
After the fun 30 moments were up the group walked out
Bowie grabs Julia and whispers to her "julia can we please have a sleepover" Bowie was tugging on her arm
"Who's coming?" Julia pulled her arm away and crossed them
"Me, emmaa, Rajjj, aaand Wayne!" Bowie said
"No MK?" Julia questioned
"Well, MK doesn't like social events and it's like a date situation you get me?"
Julia let out a sigh, "fine." Julia walked away before Bowie could thank her
When Julia was walking to her next class MK came up next to her, "hey uh thanks for the help" MK didn't make eye contact she just scratched at her beanie
Julia smiled a bit but dropped it, "your welcome"
"Are you gonna sit at our table from now on? Ur the most tolerable person there" MK finally looked up at her
Julia glanced down "at the isle of misfit toys? Uh yeah I think I'm good."
MK rolled her eyes. MK was about to walk off but Julia caught her attention
"Would you like to come over tonight?" This was an unusual question coming from the ice queen Julia who usually hated people
"So you can torture me? Or are you asking like a sleepover?" MK put her hand behind her back and grinned
Julia's face tinted red from embarrassment, "Like you coming over and hanging out" she looked away from MK, either way she knew MK had that shut eating grin on her face.
"Mmm yeah I'm down I guess" MK didn't usually 'hang out' with people, unless it was Zee. She wouldn't even hang out with Bowie and Emma.
"K, you know where I live" Julia said blankly and walked away, she liked getting the last word in.
MK watched Julia walk, she smiled a bit
"Come on MK" A tall figure stood behind MK
MK turned around to see her personal bodyguard(Caleb)
"Caaaleb my leeeegs hurtuhh" MK Said slouching down grabbing her knees
Caleb looked down and sighed, he crouched down
MK smiled as she climbed on Caleb to get on, she stepped on his head on purpose just to piss him off a bit
Caleb stood up grabbing MKs legs that are currently dangling off his broad shoulders
"Mush!" MK said pulling on Caleb's necklace and pointing down the hall.
