The ride to school the next morning was just as loud as the day before. Tolkien and Clyde were talking about the movie they had seen with Stan and Kyle.
"By the way, y/n, Kyle wants to know why you're not answering his texts," Clyde turned to me and announced.
I pointed at Bebe. "She told me to block him, so I did."
"It's for the best. I think if you see him, you should just tell him that it's a conflict of interest since his dad is your dad's lawyer. You could also just say you don't like a fire crotch, though," Bebe suggested.
"Or that you don't like guys with diabetes," Craig chimed in. "He's Type 1, he'll give it to your kids if you marry him."
"That's true." Bebe verified the fun fact.
"Well, Stan told him that Kenny has dibs on you and to back off." Clyde studied my face, looking for any reason to believe what Stan said.
"I don't care who calls dibs on what. I'm not dating anybody right now. I have enough going on." I turned and looked out the window as we pulled into the parking lot of the high school. Kenny had no right to be calling dibs on me, either. That pissed me off.
"ACK! There's way too much going on." Tweek opened the car door and stepped out, leaving it open for the rest of us to follow.
In the entire first week of the school year, nothing gets accomplished. It's just a measure to fall back into the routine and schedule before you actually have to start learning. I was grateful for the process, though, because I had a lot on my mind.
I didn't see Kenny that morning, but I wasn't searching for him, either.
I plopped down in my seat in Home Ec next to Butters.
"Well, hey, y/n! How's your day goin'?" Butters asked with a smile.
"It's alright, Butters, how about you?"
"Ah, well, you know, I got shoved into a locker this morning, but at least they found me by the second bell! A lot faster than last time." Butters kept a smile plastered on his face, but it was clear he was upset.
"Who the hell shoved you into a locker?"
"Ah, gosh, well, it was that darned Trent Boyett... he's had it out for me ever since we got him sent to Juvenile Hall as little kids. Shucks, I wish he'd just let it go."
"You want me to kick his ass?"
"Aw, gosh, no! Why, he's real tough, he'll kill ya!"
"No, he won't. Tell you what, though, I won't start anything physical with him, but point him out to me and I'll make him wish he was never born."
Butters nodded and after Home Ec, we walked the halls of the school until Butters tugged on my sleeve and whispered "that's him."
A tall, dense-looking blonde guy in a cutoff flannel was leaning against an open locker talking to a girl. I pretended to be walking to the classroom next to them, and plucked his phone out of his back pocket. I stood in the classroom for a moment until I saw him walk away with the girl, and then stepped back out. "Wait here, Butters."
I set Trent's phone to record a video in the girls' bathroom above the stalls, careful to angle it to not actually capture anything, but visible enough that a girl would notice and call the principal within an hour or so. I made sure to stay out of frame and exited the bathroom.
"Well, what'd ya do?" Butters asked me, wringing his hands.
"You'll see. Probably before the end of the day." I smiled at him and rubbed his shoulders. "He'll be in big trouble."
