The lunch table was ablaze with conversation as the group discussed their plans for Halloween next weekend. The plan was for everyone to tell our parents that we were going to Tolkien's house for a party, but we were really going to have another bonfire in the woods and get drunk. I was sitting in Kenny's lap in my usual seat and following the conversation with amusement.

"You guys should dress up as Big Gay Al and Mr. Slave," Tolkien jokingly suggested to Tweek and Craig.

"ACK! Gross!" Tweek yelled.

"You're only saying that because you'd have to be Big Gay Al," Clyde chimed in.

Craig flipped double middle fingers at Tolkien and Clyde. "Fuck you guys. We're obviously dressing up as Super Craig and Wonder Tweek."

"Booo, minimal effort. Go bigger!" Bebe gave Craig a thumbs down. "Clyde, you wanna tell them what we're dressing up as?!"

Clyde put his head in his hands and mumbled something.

"Louder!" Bebe demanded playfully.

"Sharpay and Troy from High School Musical..."

The table erupted with laughter as Clyde put his head down on the table.

"Jesus Christ, I thought we were all past those stupid movies!" Stan groaned.

"Screw you guys, it's cute!" Bebe yelled defensively over the group, and then turned to Kenny and I. "What are you two going to dress up as?"

I shrugged.

"Oh my gosh, can I please dress you guys up?!"

Clyde shot his head up and looked pleadingly at Kenny and I. "Oh God, please say yes, so I don't have to be alone in this!"

Bebe made a face at him, and then turned back to us. "Sooo?"

I twisted to meet Kenny's eyes. "It's up to you, she'll be picking out my outfit anyway."

Kenny shrugged. "I guess, but I only have, like, three outfits to work with."

Bebe beamed. "I can work with anything."

Halloween was that Saturday, and Bebe still hadn't told Kenny and I what costumes she had picked for us. I texted her on Saturday morning, and she had only told me to bring Kenny and Clyde over to her house at 5:00.

Following her instructions, Clyde and I picked up Kenny and we all headed to Bebe's.

"Dude, get in the back." Kenny opened the passenger door and pointed at Clyde.

"I was here first!"

"Clyde, Kenny's taller and he needs the leg room. Please?" I felt like I was managing an argument between two toddlers instead of two teenagers.

Clyde huffed and climbed into the backseat of my car, and Kenny triumphantly took his place in the passenger seat.

We arrived at Bebe's after a short drive, and she had already gotten ready.

"Bebe, you look incredible!" My jaw dropped the moment I laid eyes on her. She was a dazzling Y2K bombshell as Sharpay.

Bebe beamed and whisked us upstairs to her room to get ready.

"So I want you to hear me out on this costume idea. You're witty, so I think you'll like it!" Bebe giggled as she rifled through a pile of clothes on her bed.

"I trust you, Bebe, just go for it." I was just happy to be the subject of Bebe's creativity, and I knew she would make me look gorgeous regardless.

"Okay, boys first. Here!" Bebe handed Clyde and Kenny each a bag with clothes in it. Clyde's had what looked like a basketball jersey, and I could only see a white shirt in the top of Kenny's bag. Then, Bebe placed a pirate hat over his hood and it started to make more sense. "Get dressed in the bathroom."
