if beauty had a voice

if beauty had a voice— it'd whisper you
my love, this is no deaf declamation
I am wide awake
I see you and I see the world
not in haze, but just as it should be
I do not paint you in colors
I simply describe what these eyes see.

my darling, this is no blind devotion
your palm have the layout of the leaves in spring
your fingers prints likes the age of trees,
marks on your skin mirrors the waves over sand
your veins pictures the lightning strikes
your moles are little mounds of love,
constellations over your complexion
I'd mapped them with my lips if you'd like
your eyes are heaven and soil incarnate—
blues as deep ocean, brown as fertile land—
they brought me back to life

you're nature in the flesh,
don't doubt my eyes when I say this
for I have seen you in your disaster
and all I see was a woman
don't doubt my mind
when I claim this:
if beauty had a voice—
it'd call your name
time after time.
