Pg. 10

Dear Diary,

I had cried a river that night.

I had looked at my reflection and saw eyes so red that it scared me.

Mother didn't care at all.

Mother never cared so why would she now?

She had given me a dress, after a bath in a tub of fresh, clean water.

A beautiful dress.

It was simple yet beautiful.

It was as blue as midnight, hugged the upper part of my body and flared out waist down, sparkles glittering under the moonlight like stars. The sleeves were puffy and cuffed at the wrists.

Mother told me to let down my red locks and inserted pearls as white as the full moon into my ears.

I was the night sky itself.

Pure and innocent, unknown of the dangers yet to unfold. Unfold in the residence of the Blaze family.

"Are you even listening to me?" asked Everett.

"Huh?!" spoke Seraphina, distantly, in her own world.

"Seraphina!" screamed Everett in her ear.

"Ahhhhh!"

"What is wrong with you?" whispered Seraphina, out of breath.

A hand was placed on her heart, as she breathed heavily, eyes wide.

"What's so interesting about this anyways?"" asked Everett, as he tried to take a peak at the book.

"Let me read in peace for once."

Pg.11

Dear Diary,

"Run Seraphina! Run!"

Those were the last words of my father before my mother held my father back after she realised her situation, her death creeping up at her.

She wasn't going to die in a fire alone, not without dragging someone down with her.

Before the fire had enfulged them both, I turned around and ran.

Not even looking back once... because I couldn't.

It was terrifying.

I felt like I had saw hell before my eyes.
