Ehmel
The next Day,
Today is a day that I have been eagerly waiting for, for months now. It is the day of my best friend Raha's Nikkah (Islamic marriage ceremony) and I am beyond excited to see her officially become a wife. As I woke up this morning, I could feel the excitement and happiness bubbling inside me. Little did I know that the day had even more surprises in store for me.
As I came back to my room after taking a refreshing bath, I was surprised to see a group of makeup artists setting up their tools and products. Before I could even ask what was going on, Mrs. Tazmeer, came into the room with a big smile on her face. "Ehmel, they're here to get you ready for Raha's Nikkah," she said with excitement.
I was taken aback by this gesture and couldn't thank Mrs. Tazmeer enough for her thoughtfulness. "Oh Aunty Fariyal, thank you so much, but..." I started to say, but Mrs. Tazmeer interrupted me and said, "No buts, go and get ready." I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by the love and care that Raha's family has always shown towards me.
I quickly went to get ready, feeling grateful for the beautiful white garara that Raha had specially chosen for me to wear. The makeup artists did an amazing job, making me look and feel like a princess. As I sat in front of the mirror, admiring my makeup,
However, my peaceful moment was soon interrupted by the sound of someone approaching from behind. I assumed it was Natasha, who always had a knack for surprising me. "Babe, I'm not looking pretty, right?" I asked without looking away from my reflection, my eyes fixed on my newly adorned earrings.
But to my surprise, it was not Raha, but Salar. As I looked up in the mirror, I saw him standing there, looking handsome as always. I couldn't help but feel a sudden rush of nervousness and shyness around him. I quickly averted my gaze, unable to meet his gaze.
"You're asking me how pretty you're looking? You look more beautiful than a rose and prettier than the sky," Salar said with a smile. I blushed at his compliment and looked up at him through the mirror.
Salar came closer, and I felt my heart beating faster with each step he took. He gently took the earrings from my hand and helped me put them on. In that moment, we both lost ourselves in each other's company. We were so close to each other, and I could feel his warm breath on my skin.
Just as I was about to get lost in his mesmerizing eyes, I shook my head to bring myself back to reality. "Amm, Salar, I think we are getting late. We should go," I said, trying to hide my flushed cheeks and shy smile. I couldn't bear to look at him, afraid that he might see right through me.
But Salar didn't seem to mind my shyness. He took my hand and gently pulled me closer to him. "Ehmel, are you feeling shy?" he asked in a warm and affectionate tone.
I couldn't help but smile at his question. "No, I'm not," I replied, trying to sound confident. But my smile gave me away, and I couldn't stop myself from running away from him while still smiling.
