06- Past secrets

Severus snape sat in his classroom. He had spent the morning with first years and ideally Harry Potter. He knew that whenever he was around him all he thought over was his father and how he treated him. Severus knew how Adeline potter was there to protect her nephew and he knew how selfless that she was but he knew that she was risking a lot to keep her nephew safe

Severus cleared his classroom and sighed as he walked over to the potion that he was brewing. He knew that he needed a distraction and it was from Adeline. He knew how he was brewing a love potion, he needed to smell her. He needed to smell lily. He inhaled the scent and frowned but it wasn't lungs scent. It was an unfamiliar one.

Severus smelled vanilla and something else. Something that he couldn't put his finger on. He cursed to himself as he walked out of his classroom. He was in a bad mood. He seemed to forgetting his lily and he didn't want that

Adeline stood with Harry and smiled. She knew how she'd do anything to keep him safe and how she had sacrificed a lot. She knew how she saw her brother as she looked to him

"Are you ready for your first match" she asked as Harry smiled

"I guess what if...what if I am not as good as my father was" he asked as she looked to him and smiled

"I'm going to tell him what he said to me before my first match. Wipe all the fears that you have in your mind out and focus on what you have to do. You're a good player and you do the best to your abilities. I'm here" she said as Harry looked to her and smiled

"You played?" Harry asked as Adeline looked to him and smiled

"I do. I was a chaser. Your dad was a great player but your the youngest seeker in a century and as your auntie I have your back" Adeline said as Harry smiled

Adeline pulled him into a hug and smiled. She knew that she loved her nephew and she knew how she had spent years hiding and she knew how it made her think over James and how he was no longer there and she hated it

She knew how she just wanted for things to be okay between then. She knew how desperate that Harry was to make her promise and make his parents proud

Adeline sat watching the quidditch match and frowned as she looked to Harry. He was jerking around on his broom. Adeline stood watching as she dug her nails into her hand. Severus grabbed her hand as he sat next to her. He was looking at Harry and was muttering a counter curse trying to stop Harry from falling out of the air

Severus grip on her hand tightened "your on fire, your on fire" the professor behind them said. Severus pulled away as he knocked professor squirrel to the ground as he stepped out the fire that had appeared on his cloak

Adeline glanced to him and then to harry and then to Severus and sighed as she looked to see Harry as he got back on his broom

"He's okay" Severus said as he stood with Adeline and placed a hand on her shoulder. She leant back against him and smiled as she stood watching the match. Severus ran his hands up her arms as she felt the tension against his touch and looked to him.

Adeline looked to him and smiled as they held a look before she walked off

Adeline stood in her classroom pacing. She had no idea what to think but her head was battered when it came to her and Severus and she knew that she felt something with him at the quidditch game

She looked to see the door opened and saw Severus "I made a potion before. It's one I've made many times" he said

"That's very interesting since your potion master" Adeline said as he rolled her eyes

"Your impossible you know that"

"What?" She asked as she crossed her arms over her chest

"I normally smell Lily and do you want to want to know what I smelt something different. We have a connection, we have a past all those years ago. We have that moment and you know it" he said as she looked to him

"What we had was In the past Severus. It was years ago besides I'm not Lily we all know it was always Lily that you were in love. Do you not think I know how you used me that one night. We had one night all those years ago" Adeline said as he looked to her

"It was never like that and you know it" he said as she looked to him

"Isn't it?" She asked

"Why won't you open up to be over this" he said as she looked to him

"Open up. Severus you slept me and you hurt me and you discarded me and I am not going to talk to you over this. I dealt with it and now your bring it up I've been here weeks you act as if I am the plague and I didn't do a thing once. Lily was my best friend but we know I am not Lily" Adeline said as she went to walk off

"Adeline"

"Severus" she said as they looked to each other

She knew how hard that she was trying not to cry and she knew how hard it was for her to try not to cry

"Just talk to me" he said as she shock her head. She knew how hard that she was trying to protect herself

"No. You should go" she said as they stood looking at each other as she turned her back to him and wiped the tears from her eyes

He stood watching her for a moment as he walked off as she sobbed. Adeline knew how hard this was for her and she hated it. She knew that she was keeping secrets from him and it was only a matter of time before the secrets came out
