Travis's POV

"That's not your color" she mumbled as she laid the shirt down on a pile. I groaned "C'mon Emile," she goes back to digging through old boxes of clothes from her cousin.

I huff as I rest my chin in the palm of my hand, "I wonder where he's gonna take us," I thought aloud. Emile glances up, holding a skirt.

A mischievous grin stretches onto her face as she sees me notice the plaid skirt. "Don't you even think about it," I warned

"C'mon Trav, it's not that bad! You don't even have to leave the house in it. It'll be funny!" She attempted to convince me.

I shake my head stubbornly, "No way in hell," I say with a laugh. She huffs, a pout forming on her face. "Fine then I'll just have Jace help me!" She shouts before running from her room and down the hallway to her cousin's.

I frown before quickly jumping up from her bed, and looking for a place to hide. I decide the closet is the best option, considering I can't leave the room at the moment, but before I can even turn the doorknob she barges back in with Jace following behind her.

"Emile! No! Who're sending that to?" I whine. She giggles as she shows me the screen of her phone. The small screen illuminates a picture of me sitting on the edge of her bed, my arms crossed and a scowl present on my face as Jace holds a hand over his mouth stifling his laugh in the background.

I sigh, "Don't send that to anyone," I grumble. "I'm gonna send it to your boyfriend" she teased.

"You don't even have his number! And he's not my boyfriend!" I argue back as she plops down on the bed next to me. "Yet" she pauses "speaking of him, it's like 7 o'clock so put this on," she tosses me a blue flannel and a whitewashed pair of jeans.

"You asshole! why didn't you say anything? I still gotta walk to the apartments, and I'm probably gonna be late," I complain. "No your not, I gotta run to the store for my mom and I'm dropping you off on the way through," I let out a sigh in relief as I grab the clothes and walk towards the bathroom.

I quickly change before brushing out my hair. I plash water on my face before exiting the bathroom.

Emile stands leaning against jaces doorway, quiet murmers float down the hallway. "I'm ready when you are,"

Emile turns her head, now noticing me standing there. "Okay give me a second," she replies

She says bye to Jace before slipping on her jacket and shoes and getting in the car. I tug at my sleeves anxiously as she starts the engine and pulls out of her driveway. "There's nothing to be nervous about," she says softly.

I scoff lightly. She wouldn't be saying that if she could see all the bad scenarios running through my head. She presses the dial on the radio and the gentle hum of the speakers filled my ears.

I fix my hair a bit in the mirror as we turn onto his road. She soon comes to a slow stop in front of the run down apartment complex. "Thanks for helping me get ready," I sigh "wish me luck," she leans over the seat and wraps her arms around my torso before pulling me. She wipes a fake tear from her eye as she says "my baby's growing up so fast," I chuckle before getting out.
