AMIELE'S POV:
I sat in my room watching "The Phantom Of The Opera" on Netflix. I still didn't exactly get how I went back in time while I was in a coma, fell in love with the PHANTOM, and then woke up to find him here married to my ex-best friend.
Jesus Christ my life is abnormal.
I popped another piece of popcorn into my mouth, sighing as they sang "Past The Point Of No Return" in the movie; I had lived in that, singing with Erik. Heh, my life is EXTREMELY abnormal.
"Ugh dehlafugggggggg hatchabatcha luuuuuuuh....." I moaned, I don't even know what was wrong with me, I had gotten my pay back just hours before, 'but you don't have Erik....' The voice in my head reminded me. 'Well maybe if he wasn't married or in love with someone else I'd have him!' I retorted to myself. I am beyond the comprehension of living an abnormal life...
I sighed and rubbed my temples trying to calm my raging conscious.
Erik began to sing "All I Ask of You" to Christine and I couldn't help but let the flashback of me being there with him, and singing back to him flash before my eyes. If only things couldn't be so complicated.
My eyes wandered to the moonlight that peaked through the thin lacy drapes. It was full tonight, and I couldn't help but smile at its calming beauty. I sighed and turned back the movie, they were in the final lair scene now and I couldn't help but smile, at least I didn't have to go through that.
A flash of lightening bled through my window and thunder crackled through the sky. That's when I first noticed that there was a torrential downpour occurring outside.
Pit pat, pit pat....
The continuous sound of rain on my window harmonized creating their own song. And then for a second I heard music, real music, not from the movie, and not from the rain. My brow furrowed and I slowly got up, pushing my popcorn to the side and inching towards the window.
Is someone... Singing?
Am I stuck in the musical "Singing in the Rain" now?
"Loving you keeps me alive, think again before you leave me.
His love can not be as true as the love I offer you,
You're wasting time pretending you belong to him,
Come to your senses." A familiar hypotonic voice sang, I opened my window and saw Erik standing in my front yard, wearing a soaked suit, singing to me.
Rain was getting on me now, splattering on my hair and neck and dripping down my body.
But I couldn't focus on that, I could only see and feel and hear the scene that was unfolding before me.
"Loving you keeps me alive, I'll be in your heart forever,
And you'll be a part of me from now till eternity,
You've talked yourself into believing he was the one,
Such wild pretenses.
The first time I laid eyes on you,
I knew I'd never be the same,
I never knew I'd get so much pleasure,
Whispering your name." His voice filled my soul and I could feel my broken heart slowly healing, I was battling with myself once more. He is MARRIED! He loves another! You can't go with him!
But you love him! And he loves you too!
Such thoughts circulated in my mind, still only I could actually focus on him and his mesmerizing voice.
"If loving you keeps me alive,
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you,
Stay with me and let us face into the night.
You are the one, the only,
To make me see the empty life I lead,
You are the love,
The only love I'll ever need." I didn't realize it but I had crawled out my window, and was now completely open to the rain, his voice still holding great power over me.
"The first time I laid eyes on you,
I knew I'd never be the same,
I never knew I'd get so much pleasure,
Whispering your name.
If loving you keeps me alive,
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you,
Stay with me and let us face into the night." He ended on the perfect note and I broke from the trance, my once see filled eyes now filled with rage. How dare he manipulate me?!
I stood up from my position on the ledge if my roof and began to turn inside when I heard him call after me.
"Please! Amiele! Let me explain!" His voice filled with desperation, he said it like his life depended on it.
"Why do you need to?! You have a wife to love! I am of no importance anymore!" I retorted my anger flaring at his realistic sounding pleas.
"Just give me five minutes! I beg of you." He pleaded his voice cracking and he fell to his knees, his nice dress pants sinking into the soggy ground.
"Fine. Go." I ordered sitting down in the rain, his dace lit up with hope and he launched into the explanation.
My mouth was gaping by the end of it. "So practically Christine did fall for you back in time, and became jealous when I chose you... And so you woke up here already married to her? How does that work?"
"I have no idea... But you must believe me."
"Wait; let me get another thing straight. She heard me coming down the hallway, so she kissed you and made it seem like you proclaimed your love to her moments before, even though you were divorcing her, just to make us break up?" I asked slightly confused, he slowly nodded after a while. "And why should I believe you?"
He paused and looked at me, his body shaking as he tried to stay warm in the cold rain. "Amiele, I have no reason for you to believe me, besides my word, and I don't deserve your love, or anything from you at that matter. But I love you more Han words can comprehend, more than music can express. That's the only promise I can make that will never break, and it's the truth."
I gaped at him, my eyes glazed and wide, and my hands limo at my side. I jumped down from the ledge to the ground, falling into Erik's arms, and he caught me, and somehow, at that moment, I knew I could trust him.
