Chapter 60: Discovery

"Your daughter called me an old hag and I only thought her a lesson" Old Gytha responded.

"What?" Queen Delphine lips trembled and her knees felt weak. She knelt on the floor staring at her dead daughter.

"Humans are the most selfish being I've ever seen. Just because of power. You choose to neglect your own family and even kill your husband?" Old Gytha asked.

"What are you?" Tears slipped out of the Queen's eyes.

"A higher rank Demon. Here to deceive you so I can take the power of throne"

"What? Then Augustus.."

"He's good as dead. I gave him the same drink I gave the king. Plato and Julius will be framed for it. I'll have the beheaded after Augustus's death and you are going to make that work"

"No! You're monster! I'll have the guard arrest you right now!!" She yelled and turn to leave but fire appeared before her. The Queen tried to use her own power but it didn't work.

"You're my puppet Delphine. I've taken your power. We are switching the roles now. You'll be the maid and I'll be the Queen"

"Today? Gosh, they are trying so hard to rule. Tssk!" Saverina scoffed when she saw poster of Augustus getting crowned today. She look over to Alice who was busy staring at Zameil.

She was observing his moves.

They were at the market square, trying to get something for them to wear.

"You should go talk to him. You were a bit harsh on him yunno" Saverina shrugged.

"I never did anything wrong. He was the one who kept things away from me"

"He did that for a reason and you on the other hand is not innocent"

"How am I going to say it? That I'm from the 21st century and that your supposed to be bride failed to save the kingdom and I was chosen to rewrite the kingdom story again" Alice said and Saverina blinked severally.

"Yeah, you'll sound stupid if you say that" Saverina reasoned.

"Don't you think he's acting a bit strange?" Alice asked looking over to him.

"No, prince Zameil looks fine to me" Saverina said.

"You still can't recall where Baal went on the full moon?" Derek asked.

"I've tried severally but it's not working. I'm sure he went to find the other demons. I wonder what they are planning" Zameil said. He looked over to Alice and found her discussing with a man. She was even smiling. Their eyes met and she look almost immediately.

Sighing, he walked over to her and held her hand.

"Huh? What are doing?" Alice asked when the man began to drag her with him.

Reaching a corner, Zameil made her face him.

"What?" She asked looking elsewhere.

"Why are you smiling at him and not me Alice?" He asked.

"Really?" She asked. He called her Alice and not Wife. His touch was weird too.

"That's because you're not giving me the chance to explain myself"

"You don't trust me" She muttered.

Zameil placed his hand behind her and smirked. "Look at me" He demanded but Alice didn't.

"Alice" He called gently and she found herself shifting her gaze to him. This time, she observe him closely, he definitely look different.. but what?!

"I love you" He whispered and then draw his face close to kiss her.

"How do we look?" Phaedra and Mirabel ran towards Derek, they were both putting on a casual dress like the normal villiager.

"Beautiful" Derek replied.

"These casual dress feels comfortable compare to the royal one. Alice was right" Mirabel said smiling at her dress.

Saverina walked up to Ruth and gave her a dress.

"You should change too" she said.

"Oh Rina I'm fine, these cloth still look new. These cloth I got from Eliz.. I mean Alice still look new" Ruth said.

"You should still change. Alice will get mad at me if I don't give you a dress too" Saverina said.

Ruth accepted the cloth and went to change.

"That's nice of you.. how do I look? Tada!" Galen said to Saverina. His face was a bit close, so she quickly made a step backwards and take a deep breath.

"Uhm.. good" she replied after staring at him for a while.

"Oh.. I must look so good to make your face a bit paled" he said.

"Whatever" Saverina said and walked away.

"Hey!" Derek called Galen.

"Hey alpha"

"Don't call me that" Derek closed his eyes in annoyance.

"Take Alice's mother and Mirabel to your grandmother's place right now" Derek ordered.

"Don't tell me you guys are going to fight the war without me" Galen's face turn cold.

"No, I'll send someone to you" Derek said. Galen nodded and went to take Ruth and Mirabel with him.

Seeing she wasn't responding to the kiss, Zamiel looked up to her face. She was staring at him intensively as if taking every single details.

"Alice?" he called lightly.

Just then she whispered..

"You're not Zameil"

Zameil frowned with confusion swirling in his gaze.

"You've been acting strange since yesterday. Zameil calls me by the name wife. I could remember while I was fighting those men last night, I found your eyes opened. The human traffickers, the Zameil I know will never let them go and now, your touch is different. Your smell and the way you put your words is different too" Alice said this with a serious face.

"Is this a prank or something?..." He chuckled.

"You showing up out of no where after the full moon feels strange. There's something weird about the deal you made. You never told Zameil the time you are going to set him free.. you only promised not to kill anyone on that full moon.. Where the fuck is Zameil?" She asked coldly.

His face face slowly changed into an amused one.

"Fine you got me" In the next moment he was holding and squeezing her neck, dragging up from the ground. Alice gasped at his action.

Fuck! It's really Baal!

"You really know a lot about this bastard.. There's only one for me to merge with his body and that is to have you Alice.." he chuckled.

"Alice!" Saverina appeared at the scene and was shocked. She tried to use her power on Baal but he threw her off with his free hand.

"We have somewhere cooler to talk my love" Baal said to Alice and in the next second, they both vanished.

Saverina lips parted with terror.

"Alice!!!"
