It's hard to study without my glasses. I hadn't told my parents about yesterday's incident yet.
"Divyu," My grandma called.
"Haa dadi," I replied.
"Why are you not wearing your glasses" she questioned.
"They are broken... umm, I was playing, and I fell, and they broke," I lied.
"Okay, so did you give them to the repair shop?" she asked.
"Yeah, I have," I answered.
"Okay, then if you need money, come to me, okay? And don't worry, I'm not gonna tell your parents about it," she assured.
"Okay, Tara," I said, gently pulling her cheeks. I call her Tara sometimes as she is my best friend
"Haan haan, dekho kese Tara bol k makhan maar Rahi h... Jaa soja ab," she said, laughing, and left. [Look at this girl, buttering her grandma, go to sleep now]
NEXT MORNING
I got ready for school and waited at the bus stand, but the bus was late, or maybe I was.I called for an auto, but none of them were heading towards my school.
Then I saw Natasha and Aditya together on a bike. They stopped before me, and Natasha said
"Aaj bus nahi aayegi... tujhe pata nahi tha?" [Didn't you know the bus will not come today?]
"No!! Who told you?" I asked.
"The bus driver... yesterday?" Aditya replied. "Ab kya karegi? kese jayegi?" He questioned. [What will you do now?]
"Pta nhi -" [I don't know-]
"Tripling karte hai... jaldi baith jaa," Aditya said hurriedly, or probably excitedly. [Tripling? sit down quickly]
"WHAT!! NO!!" Both Natasha and I said together.
"Why, What's the problem?" He asked.
"Aditya, iski wajah se hum bhi late ho rhe hai, tu chl na faltu m kyu ruka hai... Divyaanka aaj tu chhutti krle," Natasha said. ["Aditya, we are also getting late because of her. Why are you stopping here unnecessarily? Let's go. Divyaanka, take a leave today."]
"Seriously, Natasha? Mne kab bola tum dono ko rukne k liye tum dono khud he aaye. Aditya ,ye sahi keh rhi hai m Aaj rhne deti hu tum chle jao." ["Seriously, Natasha? When did I ask you two to stop? You guys came by yourself. Aditya, she is right. I will just take a leave today."]
"Natasha, that was very rude. sahi bol rhi hai wo... usne nhi bola rukne k liye m khudd aaya or uski wajah se late nhi ho rhe... late toh hum Teri wajah se phle he hogye the jab tu apna laali popo (makeup) kr rhi thi. Jaha Tak baat hai chhutti krne ki, sahi keh rhi hai... utar jaa Natasha bike se... tu chhutti krle. Mai or Divyaanka jaate hai," Aditya said, being irritated. ["Natasha, that was very rude. She is right, I stopped by myself, and we are not getting late because of her; we were already late because of you when you were taking time doing your makeup. And about leave, you are right, get down, and take a leave. I will go with Divyaanka."]
