Anushka, determined to avoid the goons, dragged Abhay into a secluded corner of the Samuhik Vivah Samelan. Abhay, bewildered, protested, Aree pagal aurat, mujhe kyun ghaseet rahi ho?
Ek dum chup! Agar tumne apna muh khola na toh main tumhe un gundo ke aage khada kar dungi, Anushka warned, and for a change, Abhay felt a hint of fear at the threat issued by the petite girl.
They both crouched in the corner, hidden from the view of the approaching goons. Abhay, unable to resist his curiosity, questioned, Par hum chup kyun rahe hain?
Anushka, irritated, replied, Kyunki hamare peeche gunde pade hain.
Ohh hello madam, hamare peeche nahi, tumhare peeche, Abhay corrected her.
Ek hi baat hai, Anushka retorted.
Kaha se ek hi baat hai? Abhay questioned.
Ab unhone tumhe mere saath dekh liya hai, issiliye tum bhi iss problem mein 50% ke hissedar hue ho, Anushka explained.
Abhay, shocked, protested, Yeh cheating hai kaun sa 50% ? main tumhe nahi jaanta.
She smirked, Lekin yeh baat unhe thodi na pata hai ki tum mujhe nahi jaante.
Abhay, after a moment of consideration, conceded, Haan, baat toh sahi hai. Ab kya kare?
Anushka, annoyed, retorted, Tum loudspeaker ho?
Nahi, Abhay replied.
Toh mic ho? she questioned.
Nahi.
Tum mohalle wali aunty ho? Anushka teased.
Abhay frowned, Nahi.
Toh itna bol kyun rahe ho? thodi der chup raho na, she suggested, and he complied, keeping quiet.
As they brainstormed how to escape the situation, someone unexpectedly approached them. Aree you both the remaining couple whose wedding is about to happen today?, the man declared.
Abhay and Anushka exchanged confused glances but before they could speak, the man continued, Chalo koi baat nahi, aap yahi mil gaye. He called for someone and said, Inhe le jaao aur taiyaar karwa ke le aao.
Both Abhay and Anushka tried to protest, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. The man was adamant, and they found themselves being led away, caught in the unfolding events of a wedding celebration they had nothing to do with.
Dressed unwillingly in bride and groom attire, Abhay and Anushka found themselves irritated beyond measure. They had tried relentlessly to deny their supposed couple status, but the people around them remained unyielding. Unwillingly, they were seated on the mandap, the priest chanting wedding mantras.
Abhay, growing increasingly frustrated, whispered to Anushka, Madam, kuch karo, nahi toh hamari shaadi ho jaayegi.
Anushka sighed, equally irritated, Itni der se main in logon ko samjhane ki koshish kar rahi hoon lekin pata nahi yeh log kaun sa nasha kar ke baithe hain jo sun hi nahi rahe.
Abhay chuckled, Toh iska matlab yeh thodi hai ki tum mujhse shaadi kar logi.
She retorted, Mujhe koi shauk nahi hai tumse shaadi karne ka.
He grinned, Lekin phir bhi mere saath baithi toh ho shaadi ke liye.
Anushka pinched his thigh, and he winced in pain. The priest intervened, Kya hua yajman? Sab thik hai na?
