At the end of the day

With Nick

He's sat with his mates, Imogen and some others

Alana arrives

Alana: Nicky.
Nick: Al. Alright?
Alana: Yeah. Just so you know I've got a friend coming round tonight. Please don't disturb us unless you need something I know Mums busy tonight.
Nick: Yeah of course.
Harry: Oi Lana. What've you been up to lately?
Alana: Not much Harry.
Harry: Everyone's coming to my birthday party soon, bring a plus one if you want.
Alana: Thanks. I'll think about it.
Harry: Great.
Alana: Nick you coming?
Nick: Rugby practice.
Alana: Ah yes, the one sport we Nelsons love.
Nick: * chuckles* Have fun with your friend. I'll see you later.
Alana: Yeah see you.

Alana leaves

Later that night

Alana is sat in her room with Darcy

They're talking and eating snacks

Darcy: Wait so let me get this straight. You like someone? And it's a girl. But you won't say who it is?
Alana: She's one of my best friends. I'm worried she'll say she doesn't feel the same and then it'll mess everything up.
Darcy: I'm sure it won't.
Alana: Yeah but I don't even know if I'm a lesbian or it's just a phase or something ya know?
Darcy: I get it. But I have really good gaydar. I know who you like.
Alana: Oh yeah? Who?
Darcy: Lily.

There's a silence

Alana: How--?
Darcy: I see how you get whenever she's around you. Your eyes light up. You become shy, you blush. Like a lot. And you always wonder where she is when she isn't around, or what she might be up to.
Alana: Yeah it's Lily. But don't tell anyone. I know what your like. Please try and keep it to yourself.
Darcy: I promise I won't tell a soul. Well.... Except for Tara.
Alana: Fine but only Tara.
Darcy: How you gonna handle it? You've got a match against St. John's women's team soon.
Alana: I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Soon Nick arrives home with Sarah who decided to pick him up

Alana: That'll be Mum and Nick.
Darcy: Wait..... You like someone else too don't you?
Alana: Possibly but it's a guy. I'm confused about it. I don't know what's going on with me.
Darcy: Your either Queer or Bi.
Alana: Yeah but I need to figure it out first. Please don't tell anyone unless it's Tara.
Darcy: Ok.

A few days go by

Alana has a Girls Rugby Match today against St. Peters Girls school today

Alana wakes up at 6:30 and has a shower before getting ready for school

(You know the Higgs school uniform - grey blazer, grey jumper with a yellow shirt and a red tie with a grey skirt and tights or high socks) (Alana puts on the yellow shirt, tucking it into her skirt leaving the top button undone as she usually does with a slackened tie, with her Higgs jumper over it followed by her grey skirt with she rolls up two times making it just short enough in her opinion (its above her knees how the skirt of a skater dress would be) with black tights and black vans boots) (she ties her hair back into a slickec back, mid-high pony tail)

She checks her phone

There a messages from the Rugby Girls Group Chat and messages from the chat she shares with Nick and Charlie and a message from Darcy, Lily and Elle

Lily Rhodes - It's GAME DAY!!!

Alana Nelson - Yess! I can't wait to play.

Lily Rhodes - Me neither. But um.... Al can we talk later?

Alana Nelson - Is everything ok?

Alana: * frowns*

Alana goes downstairs after grabbing her bags

Sarah: Good morning Alana, darling.
Alana: Morning Mum.
Sarah: Is everything alright you seem awfully off? Isn't it your big game day you've been so excited for?
Alana: * sighs* Yeah. But I'm nervous about something else.
Sarah: What is it?
Alana: Lily... She texted me saying we need to talk. And usually I'd be ok with it because she either wants to gossip or something but she doesn't do it on match days. I'm worried I've done something and that we aren't friends anymore.
Sarah: Sweetie, Lily worships the ground you walk on. I'm sure she doesn't want to stop being friends with you. She's probably just as nervous as you are and wants to talk about it.
Alana: Yeah your probably right.
Sarah: Have some breakfast and maybe you'll calm down.

Alana gets a bowl of Coco Pops

She eats breakfast and then leaves for school

She reads the other messages until she reaches her chat that she shares with Charlie and Nick

She opens it

Charlie Spring - Good luck today Alana! Hope you win against the St. Peters Girls ❤️

Nick Nelson - Good luck today sis. Hopefully we can come watch but if not best of luck. You deserve to win so don't get in your head about it! You are the best, love you sis xx

Alana Nelson - Thanks boys. Love you too Nick. You two are the sweetest, literally. I hope to see you both there. And bring your friends if you want Char! I'm sure they're as lovely as you've said. X 🤍

Alana likes Charlie's message and then puts her phone down

Eventually she leaves, blasting music through her airpods

She air drums to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana as she reaches Truham gates

She waves to Nick and he gestures for her to join them which she does

Alana takes out her airpods

Imogen sits with her

Imogen: You nervous about your game later today?
Alana: A little. But I know we'll do our best.
Harry: We'll cheer you on from the sidelines. Won't we boys?

The boys agree

Alana: * chuckles* Cheers boys.
Imogen: We should go. Don't wanna be late.
Alana: Oh the teachers would have a field day.

Imogen and Alana say goodbye to the boys and then go to school

Alana goes off with some of her teammates and friends, Abbie, Sophie and Hannah

Hannah: Have you heard about Lily?
Alana: No. What about her?
Hannah: Apparently she's got a boyfriend. One of your brothers mates. Daniel.
Alana: * sighs and rolls her eyes* Great. Just what I needed to hear.
Abbie: What is it? Oh my god. Do you like Lily?
Alana: Shut up. And no I don't.
Sophie: Oh you so do! Why didn't you tell her?
Alana: I don't like her.
Hannah: It's ok to tell us. We aren't that close with her so we won't say anything.
Abbie: Well those two aren't. I am.
Alana: Please don't say anything to anyone but yourselves and Darcy. Lily has no idea.
Sophie: Make her jealous. I've seen it. She likes you too.
Alana: No way. There is no way she likes me.
Hannah: Who wouldn't? Your fit.
Alana: * chuckles* Someone's gay for me.

The girls chuckles

Hannah: I'm taken love. But thanks.
Alana: Sorry.
Abbie: Don't be.
Sophie: So? You gonna try and make her jealous?
Alana: Maybe. But how?
Sophie: Flirt with someone else.
Hannah: I'm up for it.
Sophie: No it's got to be someone who would get under her skin.
Alana: Imogen. She hates her.
Abbie: Perfect. But get Imogen in on it so she doesn't get confused and actually catch feelings.
Alana: Oh no definitely.
Hannah: Right then. Its settled.
Sophie: Incoming.

Lily approaches them with Georgia and Kayleigh on her tail

They chat about practice and the match
