my mind's a cup overflows,
in moments when you're here and not;
my desire is the smoke from your cigarettes–
unhealthy but leaves a profounding mark;
your touch combusted me in ways
none of them dares, none of them done;
your presence is the air that i breathe,
your absence suffocates me dear.
i don't want you like everyone does,
not longing for you like my everyday drugs–
every inch of your body is all that i need,
needs you above else, all of you into me.
please, let me be–
the person that you badly need;
won't think twice as i dive into the depths,
just to have you seating next to me;
i can see you staring back at my soul,
hold your hand tight and i'll take you home;
so please, let me be
and i'll love you as you please.
you turn my tides unbeknownst,
turning every memories' a holy ghost;
your smile shines brighter than a distant sun,
calming down my fight or flight response;
you turn my midnights into fine afternoons,
doing the pleasure of dreaming 'bout you;
love is a gamble, worse kind of addiction–
a kiss on my cheek, losing all inhibitions.
i don't see you in ways they usually do,
told you some secrets that none of them know;
every ounce of your soul is all that i need,
my sweet pill to my dire, bitter being.
please, let me be–
a part of you that you won't ever leave;
throw off my cards just to see you clear,
making a heaven out of my fever dreams;
smoothed all the edges of my jagged soul
and now that i found you, i won't let you go;
so please, let me be
and i'll love you as you please.
you kissing me is rare medicine,
my hands touching yours is sweet ecstasy;
you'll never know how i need you dear,
make me the one who watches you sleep;
i touch my phone as if it's your face,
from the madness we've seen– let's run away.
please, let me be
a place where you can pour your bittersweet tears;
these times are uncertain but you can trust me,
when things gets too busy, i am still here;
i am always dying to let you know–
you're one in a million, my philosopher's stone;
so please, let me be
and i'll love you as you please.
