Draculaura was awoken from her slumber by bright flashing from the window. she slowly blinked her eyes and sat up in her sleeping bag, the first thing she heard was rain tapping against the window. she then gazed at her friends and Boo-friend sleeping on the floor of Clawdeen's room. Draculaura looked at Clawdeen's alarm clock and saw it was black, she couldn't check the time. she tried using her Icoffin, but she had no signal
*the storm must have knocked the power out* she thought as she gazed outside again, just in time for lighting to strike and for the room to light up. she couldn't believe she was sleeping at night, she was a monster and it felt weird to her, but Clawdeen wanted to sleep at night since she was in the human world and her friends didn't want to be awake without her. Draculaura had to admit, it was peaceful at night, the stars were shining brightly, the moon shined, there were no noises outside, the human world really wasn't so bad. another sound caught her attention, it came from Clawdeen's bed
*is that... crying?* Draculaura got up and removed the covers from Clawdeen's bed, to see Clawdeen curled up, shaking and crying.
Draculaura: Clawdeen?
she got no response, she shook her little sister
Draculaura: Clawdeen? are you okay?
Clawdeen slowly lifted her head, sniffling and held back a sob
Clawdeen: D...D-Draculaura? is th-that you?
Clawdeen's voice was weak and she was still trying to hold back a sob. Draculaura felt her heart break seeing Clawdeen like this. she had heard from Clawd and Toralei that Clawdeen was deathly afraid of Thunderstorms, but she never thought her fear was that bad
Draculaura: yeah it's me, what's the matter?
Clawdeen: I... I'm f-fine big sister... d-don't w-worry about m-me....
Draculaura rubbed Clawdeen's shoulder
Draculaura: if you were okay, you wouldn't be crying and shaking
Clawdeen: c-crying? I'm not crying!
Draculaura raised an eyebrow and wiped Clawdeen's wet eyes with her finger
Draculaura: you know better than to lie to me. I know you're afraid of thunderstorms, it's nothing to be ashamed off
suddenly a flash of lightning happened again, causing Clawdeen to yelp and grab her blanket and cover herself again. Draculaura watched, not knowing what to do
Clawdeen: make it stop!
*FLASH,CRACK*
Clawdeen: Make It Stop!
*FLASH,CRACK*
Clawdeen: MAKE IT STOP!
she screamed into her pillow and sobbed loudly. Draculaura quickly placed a force field around them so she wouldn't wake the others. Draculaura sat on the edge of Clawdeen's bed and rubbed her knee. Clawdeen gripped her pillow as if her life depended on it, Draculaura watched with a hurt heart. she didn't have her witchcraft book, so she couldn't stop the storm, what could she do?
Draculaura: Clawdeen....
she got up and knelt to get to eye level to Clawdeen. but the hybrid kept her face buried in her pillow
Draculaura: little sis, please look at me
Clawdeen really didn't want to, she didn't want to see the flash of the lighting, but she complied and rolled over, making eye contact to Draculaura
Draculaura: oh, my poor little sister...
Draculaura grabbed Clawdeen and pulled her into a warm embrace. Clawdeen started sobbing into her chest as Draculaura shushed her and rubbed her back. Draculaura pulled Clawdeen closer and grabbed the blanket and covered Clawdeen with it
Draculaura: shh, shh, don't cry, it's okay. the storm can't hurt you
she began stroking her head and kissed her forehead, this did nothing to calm Clawdeen down
Clawdeen: I-I'm S-So Weak! *sob* I'm A-A We-Were-Ruler And I-I'm S-Scared O-Of A Stupid Storm? *sob* Don't Waste Your Time W-With M-Me!
Draculaura: don't say that! you're allowed to have fears, I'd never stop loving you just because you are scared of thunderstorms. but it can't hurt you, I won't let it
Clawdeen: I know, b-but it's just so loud, I can't sleep and- *sob* the noise k-keeps making me nervous
Clawdeen continued to sob and shake, she managed to take steady breaths and soon stopped sobbing but still held onto Draculaura for dear life. Draculaura wiped Clawdeen's eyes and kissed her furry, sweaty forehead. she wanted to help Clawdeen so bad, but what could she do? sure she could stay there until Clawdeen falls asleep or sleep with her, but the storm will just wake her up again.
Draculaura: ... Clawdeen?
Clawdeen hummed in response, still sniffling
Draculaura: if it would help, I could magic you some earplugs, they might help
Clawdeen: you- *sniffle* y-you think so?
Draculaura: it's worth a try
Draculaura scoots an inch away to do the spell but Clawdeen yelped and wrapped her arms around Draculaura's neck and hugged her tightly
Clawdeen: Don't Go!
Draculaura rubbed her back
Draculaura: I'm not going anywhere, I just need some space to do the spell, okay?
Clawdeen looked at Draculaura's loving eyes, wiped her eyes and whispered
Clawdeen: okay...
she let her big sister go and watched as Draculaura used magic to give her earplugs. Draculaura then grabbed a water bottle of Clawdeen's nightstand and gave it to Clawdeen who gulped it down and cleared her throat. Draculaura threw the empty bottle away and placed the ear plugs in Clawdeen's ears.
*FLASH,CRACK*
Clawdeen didn't flinch, Draculaura smiled
Draculaura: looks like their working
Draculaura gave Clawdeen one last kiss on her forehead, lowered the force field and tried to get up to go back to her sleeping bag, but Clawdeen grabbed her arm
Clawdeen: No! P-Please Don't Go!
Draculaura: Clawdeen, your fine
she saw Clawdeen about to breakdown, the vampire sighed and agreed to sleep with Clawdeen. Draculaura chuckled as she saw Clawdeen smile. Draculaura laid next to Clawdeen and let Clawdeen snuggle closer to to her and rest her head on her chest.
Draculaura: tomorrow I will make us some chocolate pancakes
Clawdeen: you remembered?
Draculaura: of course I did, I love you
Clawdeen: I love you too
they both smiled at each other before falling asleep, holding each other close.
SOMEWHERE ELSE
a demon monster was looking at Clawdeen and Draculaura from a crystal ball, then looked behind him at Crabgrass and Askari
???: get it done
they both saluted and ran off
