❝ HEY, DUCKY....DID I WAKE YOU?❞
( season two, episode eight. )

DEREK HAD PICKED UP AVERY in the morning way earlier than usual wanting to take her on a ferry boat before school whilst Lindsey stayed behind cleaning the house and getting ready for work.

The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a warm glow over the city streets as they set off on their little escapade. They strolled hand in hand after parking the car, their laughter filling the air as they made their way to a cozy cafe nestled in a quiet corner of town.

As they entered the cafe, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked pastries enveloped them, instantly making their mouths water. Derek ordered a steaming cup of coffee for himself and a selection of delectable pastries for Avery to choose from.

They found a cozy corner table by the window, where they could watch the world wake up as they indulged in their treats.

The pastries were a delightful mix of flaky croissants, buttery scones, and sweet cinnamon rolls. Avery's eyes widened with excitement as she took her first bite, savoring the buttery goodness that melted in her mouth.

Derek couldn't help but smile at his daughter's joy, feeling grateful for these precious moments they shared together.

After satisfying their taste buds, they continued their adventure by taking an early ferry boat ride. Avery's eyes sparkled with anticipation as they approached the dock.

They hopped on the ferry, making their way to the top deck so they could take in all the views.

Avery waved at the passersby, hoping to spread a little cheer even waving at the redhead on the bottom deck who her father had ignored.

They marveled at the graceful swans gliding through the water, their feathers glistening in the morning light. They laughed and shared stories, cherishing the simple joy of being in each other's company.

As the boat ride came to an end, Avery couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. She wished the morning could last forever, but she knew it was time to go to school.

Derek dropped her off at her kindergarten, giving her a reassuring hug and promising to see her later.

LINDSEY PULLED INTO the parking lot with Meredith sitting beside her in the passenger seat. George and Izzie had taken Meredith's car to get to the hospital earlier, which is why Meredith was in her sister's car.
