On World of Metahumans, one of the things you can do is do some homework. This is not the same homework you have to do in IRL school; instead, you have to do some fun assignments you can write about. The classes are way more fun as well (think about superpower training, weaponomics, or astronomy). Here is an example of a homework assignment from Carson Roseblades! (All credits go to him.)

☄ Carson Theodore Roseblades

☄ Superpower Training "Scavenger's Checklist"

☄ Year 2, week 8

☄ 1027 words

☄ RPG format

☄ All of the other students mentioned are NPCs

When Master Switlekowski had asked the students to join him somewhere downtown, Carson had frowned. Before this lesson, Carson had already experienced other outdoor classes. However, usually, these were just on the campus ground or at a park nearby. Having a lesson in the city was very different from what Carson had expected. Yet, he simply did whatever the Master told him to. Normally Carson might start an argument or not listen to the Master at all, the Velorpian boy was very good at getting himself into detention. However, today he was way too curious about this class to be the annoying prick he usually was.

In his way too fancy outfit - as always - Carson arrived at the place. He was late compared to some other students, but he was still perfectly on time. Right? Carson checked his watch. Yes, it was still one minute before the class would start. Perfect. The Master started to explain their assignment. Apparently, they had to get items from a list by using their powers - all of these items could be found in the city. Okay, Carson could do that. Carson wasn't so sure how he would use his accelerated healing and his minor photokinesis for that, but he would somehow make it work. Hopefully. Either way, the class could immediately start their assignment. When Carson wanted to go and get the first item, he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Hey Carson," another cosmic girl said. Carson raised an eyebrow. Why was she stopping him? Was she manipulating him into slowing down? This wasn't fair! "Do you want to join our team?" She gestured toward two other students. "We're working together so we can get as many items off the list as possible and win together."

Carson scoffed at that. Of course not. He worked solo. He always worked solo. Carson grabbed her hand to get it off his shoulder. Then he let go. "No, thanks," he simply said. Then he turned around before the cosmic girl could even answer. Carson would win this, alone.

The first item Carson would get, was some flowers. A grin appeared on Carson's face. Now, he knew they were supposed to get them at the store and that was where many people would probably go to actually get them. Carson, however, had a way better idea. He did not want to spend money on this assignment. So, what did Carson do to get the flowers? He simply went to the park. There were enough flowers there. No one would miss it if he took a couple of them. He still had to be careful, obviously, as it wasn't allowed, but he would.

Check. The first item on the list was done. Carson was now standing outside of the park with a couple of flowers in his hand. They were ugly and missed some petals. But well, Master Switlekowski hadn't clearly noted down what kind of flowers he wanted, so this had to do. The next item Carson would get was something from the market. The Master had written down to get two apples from the market. This time he had specified where they had to get them from. Fortunately, the market was not too far away from the park. So, Carson would get them with ease.

As he arrived at the market, Carson decided that neither was he going to pay here. Oh no, that was not happening. Silently, Carson continued walking. He immediately found where they sold the apples. A grin appeared on Carson's face as an idea started to form in his mind. This was where his photokinesis would come in handy. Carson looked at where the light came from, raised his hand, and started manipulating it. He started creating some weird light shapes to make the woman who sold the apples distracted. She indeed looked at the light and that was when Carson grabbed two apples. He had to be fast, as he wasn't that good at using his photokinesis yet, but it had worked.

Check. That was thing two from the list. A sigh left Carson's mouth as he stopped running away from the market - he had been scared of getting caught for stealing the apples. Honestly, he felt kind of done with this assignment. Especially since it seemed like they only had to get groceries - later on the list Carson also found a loaf of bread and Nutella. Wait a second... these were indeed groceries. Had Master Switlekowski just sent them to get his errands? How dare he! Now Carson was really done with this assignment (also partly because he felt guilty for stealing the apples). Even if he was a little bit early. Next to just wanting to stop, Carson also decided that he did not want to run into any further issues when getting the other items. Because there was a big chance he would, otherwise.

With only his two items, Carson came back to the Master. "Your apples and flowers," Carson said while handing Master Switlekowski the bag. "You better make some apple pie for us from those apples." They had gotten him his errands, now they at least should get something in return, right? Probably not. As today had been all about learning. Carson just leaned against the wall as he noticed some other students coming back as well. Most of them had at least four items and some even five or six. The student who won was a Cyborg boy. The Cyborg boys were his friends, so Carson still clapped as he got announced as the winner of today.

Together, all of the students started walking back to MetU, for their next class. Carson silently listened to the things they had experienced this afternoon. That made him realize that maybe this lesson had actually been quite fun. It was certainly better than sitting in a classroom and having to study theoretical subjects.
