Temporary tattoos

Are temporary like you

One day they decorate and grace my skin

The next they fade away

Erase my mind

Just like my time with you

My friend's woman checked me out

Said I was fine

Then I wonder whose woman are you?

Temporary times

A pretty secret past time

I think of you

Just like old and intricate designs

You will fade away, too

My old friends are busy

Or burdens in my mind

Haven't heard from Heaven for some time now

Can I stay here a while?

I won't be long

Sometimes I miss my old friends

And the dead ends

But I know more than anyone

The best of times were temporary

And forever they will stain my heart

Old scars fail to fade

Erase my mind

My heart sunk when I found out about your mother

Flowers on my wrist

I wish I could call mine

I wish I could give you the petals that embrace me

Exhausted, exiled nights of my youth

I laid alone under midnight skies

Where no stars shone

Waiting for answers

I never wished to here

I wish I could be a stranger

But I'm not

I was just a kid

You were not

For we are merely people

And in the end I believe in us

I could do anything you needed me to

This time with you

Temporary tattoos

Are just like you

Just like me

I can't do everything

I'm a stranger

And you're my withdrawal

I'll think of you

Next time I fall.
