Running circles around in my mind
I wish you sweet sleep and beautiful dreams
Out on the side streets
Racing between the lines
Corner of my eye
I see you staring back at me
Clearing your mind
Running circles around town
Our town
Where skies are blue
And sometimes I think
Of people like you
Where people forget about each other
Where perfect strangers meet
And where they will leave
Cornered in your mind
Racing between the lines
To forget about people like me
Let it be
Wandering back to your old house
The backyard that oversees a place
We both know too well
Misplaced in old moments
If only we knew
We were perfect strangers
And often on midnights I remember that
I remember when that meant something to me
I don't know what you remember
As you run with the wind
And the skies are blue
Only for you
If only I knew
Running away
Returning someday
Clear your mind of me
With time
Clear your mind of these people
These places
These perfect strangers
These pleasant dreams
Sleep well
Don't tell me your dreams
Unless your heart is true.
