Rain of grey winter

Encroaches every artery

Circulating misery

Through every capillary

Dark skies overhang

Reflecting, recurring

Emotions of desolation

One after the other

Today I felt the sun

An unexpected surprise of warmth

Dancing on my skin

Burning delicately

For a brief moment

I was not lonesome

A crack in the pane

Of broken glass

Yet clouds still darken sunlight

Winter rain still falls

But disrupted by a single ray

I know warmer days will come
