Ecstatic; he dragged me back upstairs
He told me that he kissed her
While I was in my bathroom
Forced a smile on my face
I'm happy for him, I must be
Though I felt the envy within me
Invading, destroying my ribs
Engulfing my organs with fire
Detaching from my emotions, I pulled
The strings from above my arms
He asked me, are you jealous?
With candour, I told him no
For he didn't know it wasn't him,
But it was her with who my envy lies
