I've been thinking lately about us of course,
What if our ship were to steer off course?
Imagine; just us and the ocean, and nobody else
The wind is strong and we're cold while our ship twirls;
It's a dark cloudy night with lightning flashes
And time and again, against us the water clashes –
Kinda scary, isn't it? But I don't think you scared, are you?
It makes me wonder: Do you ever get scared, Keanu?
I do; especially at the thought of losing you
I miss you and I don't like it one bit –
No, not missing you; the pain that comes with it
I don't think it's something I can get used to
But I might have to if what I overheard is true;
Dad's taking us out for dinner tonight to celebrate
He said we'll go to whichever restaurant I choose,
That's his way of saying to me he's got bad news;
Last time this happened we moved to another state.
This always happens; I'm tired of having to start anew
I don't wanna go if it means living without you; I'll tell 'em too
It's unfair - they have each other; what about me?
Other people experience glee for free –
Mine always comes at a fee before it flees...
Make me wonder; Is bliss not meant for someone like me?
I knew from the beginning that it'd be I who hurts us
I told you "I shouldn't be the one who holds the brush that paints us"
But you held my hand and said you'll guide us
So, we painted, and our art looked perfect; that was sus
But I turned a blind eye for I thought 'it's different with us'
Wrong! As soon as you let go of my hand, I cracked our canvas
Now look at us – is love in the cards for people like us?
