Y/n stood at the edge of the woods, the early morning sun casting long shadows through the trees. The air was cool and crisp, carrying the faint scent of pine and earth.

She took a deep breath, steadying herself for what lay ahead. Just as she was about to step into the dense forest, her phone buzzed in her pocket.

She pulled it out, glancing at the screen. It was Detective Dahyun. She answered the call, her voice low and cautious.

"Detective?" Y/n said.

"I'm on my way" Dahyun's voice came through the line. "I'm going to follow along with you."

Y/n nodded, even though Dahyun couldn't see her. "Alright. I'll wait for you at the entrance. Just be careful."

Y/n hung up the call and leaned against a tree, scanning the surroundings. The woods were eerily quiet, the only sounds being the occasional rustling of leaves and distant bird calls.

After a few minutes, she saw Dahyun running towards her, slightly out of breath but determined.

"Let's do this" Dahyun said, nodding towards the path ahead.

The two women made their way deeper into the woods, moving cautiously and with purpose. They knew this area well—it was the same woods where the chapel stood, the place where they had traced Sana's footsteps.

The air grew heavier with each step they took, the trees closing in around them, casting long shadows.

"This place gives me the creeps" Dahyun whispered, her hand resting on the grip of her gun.

Y/n nodded in agreement. "It feels like we're being watched."

They continued in silence, their senses heightened, every sound and movement drawing their attention.

As they approached the chapel, they moved even more cautiously, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of movement.

"This is where we traced Sana's footsteps" Dahyun said softly, her eyes narrowing as she peered through the dense foliage.

The chapel loomed ahead of them, its weathered exterior blending into the surrounding woods. It looked abandoned, but Y/n and Dahyun knew better than to let their guard down.

They approached it carefully, moving in sync, their guns at the ready.

Y/n motioned for Dahyun to follow her, and they crouched down, peeking inside one of the broken windows.

The interior of the chapel was dimly lit, the morning light filtering through the cracks and holes in the walls and roof.

Dust particles floated in the air, creating an almost ethereal atmosphere.
