The sun was slowly setting, casting a soft golden light throughout the house, and the atmosphere felt serene, alive with the excitement of the special day. The room was adorned with vibrant marigold flowers and scented candles, and in the middle of it all, a small table was set with sweets and offerings. Today was a very special day—the naamkaran ceremony of little baby

Ammi sat cross-legged on the floor, holding the baby in her lap. The baby’s face was filled with calm and love. Ammi’s face shone with joy, but traces of exhaustion from the last few days of caring for the newborn were visible. Abbu stood beside her, looking at their daughter with pure adoration. His little girl, his princess, was now in his life, and his heart was full.

Veer and Vansh, the older brothers, were eagerly sitting nearby. Veer, a little older, could barely contain his excitement, while Vansh, always full of energy, ran around, ready to be a part of the ceremony. Today was a celebration, and the air was buzzing with joy.

Dadi, as usual, was making her grand entrance. She walked into the room with an air of drama, her face a mix of pride and scrutiny. There was a slight frown on her face, but she couldn't help but glance over at the little baby in Ammi's lap.

“Arre yaar, aaj toh bahut mehfil laga rakhi hai!” Dadi declared as she sat down, her voice carrying the unmistakable tone of someone who had something to say. “Yeh naam toh kuch khaas hona chahiye.”

Ammi smiled softly, cradling Haseena in her arms. "Haan maaji, hum dono ne socha hai. Par... abbu ke saath milke hum bhi ek naam sochna chahte hain.”

Dadi tilted her head slightly, raising an eyebrow. “Kyun? Koi aur naam tum dono ko nahi mila tha?” She didn’t bother hiding the sarcasm in her tone, clearly implying that she could’ve thought of a better name.

Abbu, sensing the storm brewing in Dadi’s words, spoke up, trying to steer the conversation in a calmer direction. “Dadi, hum dono milke hi naam sochenge. Haseena ko hum dono ka pyaar chahiye, samjho?”

Dadi sighed, her eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint. “Jise meri tarah pyaar milta hai, woh ladki toh sabke dil mein bas jaati hai.”

Ammi blinked, not entirely sure how to respond to Dadi’s cryptic comment. “Matlab?”

Dadi smirked and pulled out a small pouch from her purse, eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint. “Maine toh naam ka soch liya tha... jo mujhse poochta!”

Abbu raised an eyebrow, trying not to laugh. “Oh really? Toh aapne apne khud ke favourite naam soch liye?”

Dadi placed the pouch in front of her, ready to announce her name choice. “Mera naam toh Ayesha hona chahiye.”

A stunned silence filled the room. Everyone exchanged glances, unsure of what to make of it. “Ayesha?” Abbu said softly. “It’s a beautiful name, but we should all think about this together.”

Dadi, now more adamant, continued, “Duniya ke sabse khoobsurat naam hai yeh. Aur is ladki ko meri zindagi ka sabse khaas naam milna chahiye!”

Abbu, trying to keep things light, smiled. “Haseena... this name resonates with both of us.”

Just as the tension was rising, Haseena shifted in Ammi’s lap and let out a soft coo, catching everyone’s attention. The room became still for a moment as all eyes turned to the tiny baby in Ammi’s arms.

Veer, who had been quietly observing, leaned forward with a playful expression. “Aap kaise soch sakte ho naam? Haseena ko toh har naam achha lagta hai...” he teased, looking at his baby sister with pure affection.

Vansh, his little brother, stopped running around and took a few cautious steps toward Haseena. He gazed at her with a deep, thoughtful look. “Haseena... Haseena bilkul mummy ki tarah lagti hai,” he said innocently.

Ammi felt a lump form in her throat. Her heart swelled with love as she looked down at Haseena. “Haseena... yeh naam humari chhoti si roshni ke liye hai.”

Dadi, now more introspective, paused for a moment. Her gaze softened as she looked at her granddaughter. “Haseena... yeh naam bhi theek hai. Chhoti si roshni,” she murmured, her voice gentler now.

Ammi smiled warmly, looking at Abbu. “Haseena... duniya ki sabse khoobsurat ladki.”

Abbu, who had been quietly watching, leaned down toward Haseena and whispered, “Haseena... duniya ki sabse khoobsurat ladki hai. Yeh naam humari zindagi mein ek nayi roshni lekar aaya hai.”

Veer and Vansh, who had been eagerly waiting for this moment, chanted in unison, “Haseena!”

Dadi, now fully embracing the warmth of the moment, nodded slowly, her expression softening. “Haseena... yeh naam aapke liye hai, meri jaan,” she said with genuine affection.

As the family gathered around, a sense of peace filled the room. Haseena’s naamkaran ceremony wasn’t just a ritual—it was the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. A chapter filled with love, laughter, and memories that would last forever.
