Whenever I hear the word poem
I am reminded of your laugh
It's something I want to bottle up in
a jar and put on the table next to my bed
Something I want to record and replay
whenever I am down
Or even when I'm not
Your laugh is something I want to hear
everyday yet keep for myself
It's something I want to lean on
Something to keep on my shelf
Your laugh is a little recorder in a shop
And I'd stay until it closes
Still replaying in my head nonstop
Whenever I read the word poem
I am reminded of your smile
Your face lights up as
bright as a supernova
I'd see stars around it
And the sun would focus on you
Your smile is contagious
The northern lights would smile as well
And the moon would take a picture of you
The sky would cry for how ethereal you are
Your smile lights up the lamp posts on the street
And the lights to that cafe you visit once in a while
Whenever your pictures are taken I'd zoom in on you
Your eyes would shine with it
and people would look at you twice
Your smile makes me nervous
I try to run when you're near
Yet I always look for you
Whenever I write a poem
I write about you
I write about your handwriting
that would make a pen cry
I write about how my friends would
say "who is that guy?"
I write about what we talked about
Or what we could've
Should've
I write about quotes in novels that
remind me of you
I write about things you love
And things I think you would love
Here's a list
I think you would love a date at an arcade
Eating pizza together and losing games
I think you would love a picnic date
Where we stuff each other's mouthwith chocolate, raisins, rice and cake
You name it
Maybe you would love a date at home
Where we sing songs that remind us of our comfort zone
You would probably love handmade letters
You don't need to fret
I'd write you a box full of them that you won't forget
We can play songs on my keyboard that may be off-tune
But I'd do anything to spend a second with you
You're everything a poem needs and writers write
You're everything a reader reads and a muse is like

Cracked Surface (That You Don't Seem To Notice)
PoetryA bunch of poems I wrote on various occasions. I'm a beginner so it's not that good and some are not about me. Sometimes I think about others who have gone through way worse than me whenever I'm on my bed breaking down. I'm not someone whose parents...
