The energy in the restaurant was very different at night than it was during the day. My guess was that it had something to do with the inhabitants dining there. Instead of the usual Witches and Elementals I was used to eating next to, the restaurant was full of Vampires with a few Werewolves scattered here and there. It was interesting to feel the different atmosphere.

Willow and I visited the herbal tea station and I chose a nice soothing lavender and chamomile mix to help bring my energies back down. We found a table at the edge of the room and sat down to people watch, or vampire watch at this time of night.

They all had their various groups and I could see that the ones towards the middle of the room seemed to be more noticeable than the ones on the outskirts. My eyes kept going from one group of Vampires to another curiously as I tried to work out what it was that had caught my attention, what it was that made each group different. It was as if some groups' energy drew you in more than others. Maybe it was their vibrations. I didn't have a quartz crystal on me, but I didn't think that was a bad thing since my incident in VSM class. I decided to try anyway.

I relaxed my vision slightly and concentrated on the vibrations the Vampires in the centre of the room were giving off; they seemed to be the strongest ones. Slowly my senses came online. First was the static electricity feeling, followed closely by the warm tingles in my hair follicles. Then I could see them; I could see the lights of the vibrations emanating from the Vampires. The groups towards the centre of the restaurant had brighter lights that were a more saturated red colour than the groups that were sat around the outside; they had more of a murky crimson colouring. The energy of the central vampires also seemed to vibrate at a higher frequency and I wondered if this was somehow what made them more powerful or whether it was more of an indication of it. My instincts told me that the brighter and more saturated the vibrations, the more powerful the vampire would be. "Interesting."

"What is?" Asked Willow.

"The Vamps. The more powerful the vampire, the higher their frequency is." I explained, almost sure I was right.

"You can see the differences of each vampire's personal vibration?" Willow asked incredulously.

"Yes. The more powerful the Vamp, the brighter and more colourful their vibrations are." I remembered Willow wasn't able to see the colourful lights in her bedroom that morning when we changed my hair. "What do you see?" I asked, curious why I would be seeing something different.

"It's more like a change in the air around them," She explained. "Like heat coming off a stone."

I nodded in understanding. That's what I had seen before the lights kicked in. "OK. So if you look between the different groups of Vampires, can you see more of the change around some than others?" I was interested to know if normal witches would be able to tell the difference in power or if it was just me.

"Oh yes." Willow sounded excited. "They have more of it." She said pointing to the group in the middle. "I've never noticed that before." She sounded fascinated. "Do you think it works with other species or is it just the Vamps?"

"I'm curious about that myself," I admitted. "We'll have to experiment." I grinned conspiratorially. Willow nodded enthusiastically.

"Not used to seeing you two in here this time of night." I turned to see Flic sauntering towards us, a cup of Plasmax and a plate of those little round blood things she liked on her tray. She sat down. I noticed a lot of heads turning our way; a lot of male vampire heads.

"We had Moon Circle tonight." Explained Willow.

"Too much energy to go straight to bed," I added.

Flic nodded. She picked up her plate and offered it to me. "Since you like trying different foods, do you want to try one?" She offered.
