The flames I fueled with reckless desire
Scorched your heart with burns of ire
Consumed by passion's thoughtless fire
I watched our garden expire
Now in the ashes, I sift through the debris
Of broken dreams and promises unfulfilled
The damage wrought by my mindlessness and greed
Haunts me still
With sorrow and shame, I survey the wreckage
Of this love that I failed to protect and cherish
I neglected our bond, took your feelings for granted
Now must perish my hopes, as penance stranded
So I come to make amends, to restore and revive
The light that once shone, but I let die
Your forgiveness I'll strive to earn and regain your trust
For my remorse knows no end, my regret so robust
Please accept my apology, I implore
I'll stoke this love gently, not ravage anymore
With care and devotion, the seeds we will sow
To blossom again, our scorched souls now know
