Forgive My Fire

The flames I fueled with reckless desire

Scorched your heart with burns of ire

Consumed by passion's thoughtless fire

I watched our garden expire

Now in the ashes, I sift through the debris

Of broken dreams and promises unfulfilled

The damage wrought by my mindlessness and greed

Haunts me still

With sorrow and shame, I survey the wreckage

Of this love that I failed to protect and cherish

I neglected our bond, took your feelings for granted

Now must perish my hopes, as penance stranded

So I come to make amends, to restore and revive

The light that once shone, but I let die

Your forgiveness I'll strive to earn and regain your trust

For my remorse knows no end, my regret so robust

Please accept my apology, I implore

I'll stoke this love gently, not ravage anymore

With care and devotion, the seeds we will sow

To blossom again, our scorched souls now know
