The clouds roll in, the skies grow dark
As raindrops fall, masking my tears' mark
Alone I wander in dreary distress
Harboring sorrow words can't express
The downpour disguises my mute heartache
My pain polite smiles and laughter forsake
So in public I conceal my true feeling
But inside, my wounded spirit is reeling
At night I release the sadness I've caged
When veiled by darkness, anguish uncaged
I let teardrops flow like the rain on my roof
Crying for you, my heart etched with proof
This rain will pass and sunlight will shine
Drying the drops that formed thin saline lines
So I treasure this time to process my pain
The storm clouds like me, cannot cry rain forever
For now unspeaking grief is my cloak
But soon I will find strength to invoke
My voice to unwind our love's ending verse
The clouds will part, healing shall emerge
