One would think that with the fog that rolled through the cherry trees, the air would be crisp; the twinkling stars and glowing full moon wouldn't be able to penetrate the night. Neither the white wolf nor the black wolf could feel the cool air. Their eyesight was already heightened thanks to their supernatural abilities, but it was still lovely to have the light guiding them through the blossoming trees' orchards. The white wolf was coming from the east, weaving in and out of the trees like a game. The black wolf approached from the west but took a more direct path, intent on approaching the other as fast as possible.

Soon, a clearing came into view for both of the wolves. The two wolves stopped at the edge, gazing out across the distance at their counterpart. Almost simultaneously, they each took a step into the clearing. When their feet touched the dew-blanketed grass, there weren't wolves' paws that appeared. Instead, it was a man and a woman walking toward the center. They only looked a few years apart in age.

The man was tall with a muscular frame. While he didn't look like a fighter, scars under the fabric of his opened button-down shirt hinted that he had experienced many things over the years. His white button-down was paired with jeans but no shoes. He had dark, almost black hair. It paired well with his tanned skin. His eyes were blue, like the color of the sea after a storm, as if the bright blue mixed with green algae.

The woman's lips turned up into a smile as she reached the center, stopping merely a foot away. Her chestnut hair was pulled over one shoulder and braided. Her olive-colored skin was similar to his own but unique in its own way, with a pink, softer undertone than his sun-kissed tan. It was more natural as his was enhanced due to his time in the sun. She wore a pale green spaghetti strap dress that flared out at the hips. Unlike his bright eyes, her eyes were a strange silver-grey color.

They could have stood in front of each other for an eternity or just a few seconds; it didn't matter to either of them. The man lifted his hand and cupped her cheek tenderly. "My love..."

A blush spread across her cheeks as she gazed up at him. "My hero." She teased him, giggling softly.

He couldn't help a chuckle of his own, "I'm not sure about that, but I'll always be here to protect you. I'm yours."

She took a step closer, resting her hands on his chest. His heart was racing just like hers was. "And I'm yours... I know you'll always protect me... I wish I could hold you close... not just here, in this place." There was sadness in her voice.

He let out a sigh, leaning forward and kissing her forehead. "I know..." Even touching his lips to her skin caused sparks to spread through their bodies. "I will find you... I don't know how or when, but I'm searching for you. You are mine, and I am yours."

She nodded, closing her eyes to enjoy the feeling radiating through them. Silent tears rolled down her cheeks. "I don't think you'll ever be able to find me."

His arms wrapped around her petite frame, pulling her close to comfort her. "Even if you never walked across the earth, I swear to the Moon Goddess that I will never stop until I can hold you just like this."

She nodded again, burying her face in his chest and inhaling his scent. Her hands gripped his shirt, refusing to let him go even though they both knew this dream wouldn't last forever. His calloused fingers slipped into her hair. She finally opened her eyes and looked up into his soft gaze. She frowned in confusion as if she had just heard what he said. "The Moon Goddess? So you aren't a Christian, then?"

He smiled and gave another chuckle, "Not quite, but my family does... have a religion of sorts. Does yours not talk of the Moon Goddess?" He was a little confused, too. Didn't all werewolves know of the Moon Goddess? He couldn't remember ever meeting a wolf from a pack or a rogue that followed a mundane religion like Christianity.
