Kiyume Uchiha was 4 years old when her brother died.
It was sudden. She was sat on Sasuke's lap; he was babysitting her while Shisui was away.
It was her birthday in 3 days time.
Itachi came back late, his eyes rimmed red from crying. Both Kiyume and Sasuke were asleep on the couch.
"Sasuke... Kiyume-chan... wake up..."
He shook them gently awake.
"Itachi-nii... what took you so long...?" mumbled Sasuke in a tired voice.
"Mm... Itachi-san... where's onii-san...?" the small girl asks wearily, obliviously unaware.
"Shisui... won't be coming home anymore..." Itachi explains gently, taking Kiyume's small hands in his own, "you'll be staying with us from now on..."
