Wrong Way!

After the weekend we got our first mission together. We have to go Mondstat and defeat the evil dragon Stormterror. Seems simple enough. We head North to travel to the city of Mondstat, which is about 46 hours away. Oh this will take awhile.

"Hey, uh, I think we got lost-"

"Kronnii this is the fifth time! I regret ever giving you the map." I glare at her and rub my temples in frustration. I ponder around trying to figure out where we are. It seems we are in a forest?

"Sorry ehe!" Kronnii says guilty.

I sigh. "It's dark out so let's collect some firewood and set up camp," I decide. Kronnii goes off to collect some wood and food while I stay here and set up camp. I hear some footsteps approaching me and it's not Kronnii.

"Who's there!" I say intimidatingly. I quickly grab a hold of my sword and get ready to fight. It's 9:23 and Kronnii hasn't been back for a while. I think I know why. "Where's Kronnii!"

"Now, now, don't be so feisty.." A person pops out of the bush. They have a black hoodie and a demon mask on them. A purple mist fills the area and the person holds up a cyberpunk-themed gun. Before I could hit them with my sword I get hazy and fall into a deep slumber.

I open my eyes into a place that I don't recognize. There's so much pink glittery dust and everything has a little cottage core theme to it. I remember Akane telling me about this place. We're in the land of the fairies, Aurelius. To the naked eye, fairies are extraordinary creatures who help people with their everyday needs, but in the world of Advent, it is the opposite. Fairies are greedy selfish beings that only manipulate and feast on humans. Monsters are what you would call them. No one dares to go to their abode.

My eyes gander around to many exquisite details. For one there is an electric chair on my right. They're most likely going to put me in it. Should I be scared? To my left there is Kronnii peacefully sleeping. There are many bloodstains and human remains in this room. There are a lot of torture devices and items used to make people suffer. There's a little window near the door and since I'm not chained I decided to take a peek. I widen my eyes at the sight and take a few steps back. Right there, I saw someone or something holding one of the fairies by its neck and gouging its eyes out. I gag at the scene. We need to get out as fast as we can.

I shook Kronnii for her to wake up and I tell her about what I saw. Her face had the same expression I had when I told her. Kronnii tells me that there should be an emergency switch somewhere in the room, just in case a victim falls into insanity. I look up to find the switch.

"Kronnii you can float right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Can you get the lever up there?" I pointed upwards at the ceiling gesturing for her to pull the lever.

Kronnii tries her best to pull the minuscule lever and it surprisingly works perfectly fine. It opens a door in the wall where we can escape from with ease.

We run out to find that the entire village was being invaded by these odd vertebrates. We saw all the microscopic fairies get brutally murdered in the mass genocide. We run the opposite direction from the village and I run into someone. It was the person with the mask. It was a girl, about the same age me and Kronnii were. She had long white hair, snow white skin, and bright blue eyes.

"E-Eek! Don't look!" she flinches with a broken mask at hand.

"Hey, it's okay! Are you also a magical girl?" Kronnii says with a reassuring smile.

"Yea.." she mutters. "But I never wanted this! All I want is to see my little brother again." The girl starts breaking down.

"H-Hey! Don't cry!" Kronnii starts panicking. Might as well do something too.

"Don't worry. It will all work out perfectly." I say while ruffling her hair. Thought that might give her some nice homey vibes. She first stares up at me in fear but then shakes her head. "I'm fine." She says, sniffling.

"Call me Cerise and... I'm on a journey to go back home." Sadly it's most likely that she will die here instead of going home considering the situation we're in. "I know the way out of the forest but you will have to repay me with a favor." she says.

"Sure, can't harm us right?" Kronnii says. I don't know what this "favor" is but I know it can't be good.

"Alright, drink some water," she passes me a half full bottle of water, "and get ready. This is gonna be one heck of a journey." Cerise reaches in her pocket to pull out an arrow. She plunges the arrow through the sky and suddenly the sky turned white. I start getting a small ringing in my ear and my vision is getting foggier. The purple mist from before starts surrounding me and Kronnii again. Cerise is nowhere to be found.

My eyes unsealed themselves and I wake up in a forest, but a different one. My eyes wander off and I catch various details in the environment. It seems there are no signs of life besides the many vines and trees and plants. I take a stroll around the forest to find anything significant. I first walk to the left, then the right, and then the middle but I can't seem to find anything. I quickly pace myself. I have a bad feeling about where I am right now.

I walk around some more. It seems endless, like an infinite whirlpool. This place is quite eerie and ominous. After some more walking I find a little meadow. All of the flowers are wilted. There are for some reason many glass shards, rose petals, and pieces of a clock scattered around.

"You aren't supposed to be here. You're breaking the world's laws."

I turn around and see a black haired woman in a fox mask.

"Who are you." I asked grabbing ahold of my sword.

"Moreover, who are you?! You aren't supposed to be in this universe." Universe. I'm in a different universe? That shouldn't be right. Where the hell did Cerise take me?!

"To answer your question, I'm Chara. And please get me out of wherever the hell I am right now."

"Hm. Go to the middle of the meadow, then you will be able to fulfill your wish. Be careful though. Don't say I didn't warn you.." the woman quickly fades away, into the shadows.

Hmph. Seems easy enough. I set myself off on my little adventure. I walk around for about 15 minutes. Can't really find anything. I'm nowhere even near the center of the deceased flora. I keep walking. It's getting tiring. My legs feel like they're burning but I still keep going. At this point, I can't even feel my legs. The pain is just so unbearable. I keep walking, trying to persevere. My vision starts getting blurry and the high pitched ringing sounds are getting louder and worse than they were before. I look forward. I see a black shadow casting from a little podium. I'm surprised I was able to see it. It looks like it's at least 25 kilometers away. I look at the time, 11:45. I start panting, gasping for air. I think they kept me in a simulated room with no oxygen. I keep going and going until I fall on the floor. I try to pick myself up but I fall back down again. Blood starts streaming down from my eyes. I have gained a massive headache but I can't do anything about it now. I try crawling my way over there. 15, 14, 13... I count the kilometers I already have passed. It's so close but I don't think I can hold on much longer.

I wonder if Kronnii is also experiencing this... Hell is what you can call it.

I'm finally there. I feel like throwing up then passing out right after. I try to pick myself back up. My legs wobbling, my hands shaking, me trying to breathe as much air as I possibly can. On the podium there is a mirror that is shattered.  There is some writing on it.

It says, "YOUR WELCOME."
