Engfa's POV

It's been almost a month since I last saw Dr. Austin.

She made it very clear to me that she is really a busy person and I understand that because I am too. With the workload that's been given to me, I also do not know if dating is a good idea at the moment.

I must admit that when I first saw her at the hospital, I was already enchanted by her. Not just because she's gorgeous but because of her passion for what she does as a doctor.

I heard the nurses talk about her while I'm at the hospital. They keep on mumbling about how good a doctor she is and how hard she works.

"Waraha? Hey? Are you even listening to me?"

My partner, Win, tapped my shoulder. We were on night duty and currently sitting inside of the patrol car cruising slowly along the highway.

"Huh?"

I mumbled. I did not hear a single word. He shook his head and laughed.

"Where's your head these days. You've been like this you were discharged from the hospital."

He said while still shaking his head. I rolled my eyes at him before speaking.

"I'm just thinking about that case the other day."

I lied. My mind was never occupied by work these days. The radio is playing with the volume on low.

"Which one? The corpse found along the river?"

He asked curiously. I just nodded. Yeah it was that one and the Doctor who saved my life and promised me a date.

"Yeah. That one. There's no lead at all yet. I'm afraid it will turn cold as turkey in the next days if we haven't found anything."

I said. I am genuinely thinking about that case now. A Jane Doe, found along the river. We cannot even positively identify the body. All we know so far is that she's five foot four inches tall, caucasian and a brunette.

"There were no signs of trauma on her body."

Win seems to remember it too. I nodded. Her cause of death was identified to be hypoxia caused by drowning.

"Forensic says that they found alcohol in her system. It means that she died approximately two days ago."

I said. Win nodded while driving.

"I heard that the chief wants you to report it as a suicide or accidental death?"

Win said. I sighed before nodding.

"Yeah. It looks like one but I have a gut feeling that it's more than that. She's approximately just 16 or 17 years old."

Win parked beside a convenience store near the hospital where Dr. Austin is working. We stepped out of the car to buy something to drink. I looked at my watch.

"Calm night tonight."

I said when I realized that it's almost midnight but we haven't heard any reports yet. I opened the door and about to enter the store when I bumped into a person who's coming from the opposite direction.

She almost stumbled but I was able to hold her arm to steady her. She's still wearing her lab gown and I saw the name on the plate pinned on her chest.

"Sorry. Miss..."
