TW~Insomnia

Y/N's POV

It was one of those nights where my insomnia was really acting up. I tossed and turned in my bed, trying to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in. But no matter what I did, sleep just wouldn't come. It felt like my mind was in overdrive, racing with thoughts and worries that kept me wide awake.

I glanced at the clock and saw that it was already 1am. Frustration bubbled up inside me as I realized I had been tossing and turning for hours with no success. I knew that Nick, Matt and Chris were all fast asleep in their rooms, but I couldn't stand the idea of spending another sleepless night alone in my own bed.

With a heavy sigh, I got up and quietly made my way to Nick's room. I felt guilty for waking him up, but I knew he wouldn't mind. Nick always told me that I could wake him up anytime I needed to talk or just be around someone.

I gently knocked on Nick's door and he stirred from his sleep. He opened his eyes and looked at me with concern, knowing immediately why I was standing there in the middle of the night.

"Hey, what's wrong? Can't sleep again?" Nick asked softly.

I nodded, feeling tears prickle at the corners of my eyes. Nick immediately got up from his bed and enveloped me in a warm hug. His familiar scent and comforting embrace helped to calm my racing thoughts.

"Come on, let's get you some blankets, pillows, and snacks. We'll make a fort in the living room and watch a movie until you fall asleep," Nick suggested.

I smiled gratefully at him and followed him as he led me to the living room. We gathered all the essentials and started building our makeshift fort out of cushions and blankets. Nick put on a movie that he knew I loved and we settled in, snuggled up in our cozy little fort.

As the movie played in the background, Nick and I chatted softly about random things. He knew how to distract me from my insomnia-induced worries and anxieties with his easy conversation and calming presence.

I started to feel my eyelids grow heavy as the movie went on. Nick noticed my drowsiness and gently rubbed my back, encouraging me to relax and let sleep take over. Before I knew it, I had drifted off into a peaceful slumber, wrapped in the warmth of our fort and Nick's comforting presence.

When I woke up the next morning, I found Nick still asleep beside me, his arm draped protectively over my shoulder, whilst snoring. I smiled at the sight, feeling grateful for having such a supportive best friend who always knew how to help me through my toughest nights of insomnia.

A few minutes later, I saw Nick shuffle around before he groggily opened his eyes, blinking in the morning light.

"Thank you for last night, Nick. I don't know what I would do without you," I said softly, feeling a lump form in my throat.

Nick smiled sleepily at me and ruffled my hair affectionately. "Anytime, Y/N. You know I've got your back, no matter what. Now, how about we make some breakfast. Waffles?"

I nodded, feeling a warm glow of gratitude and friendship wash over me. As we got up and headed to the kitchen, I knew that no matter how bad my insomnia got, I could always count on Nick to be there for me, building forts and watching movies until the early hours of the morning.
