3rd Pov.
“Kazuma, Esora, get behind me!” Darkness stands in front of her friends protectively as the rest of the adventurers rush forward to shield the younger adventurers’ from Beldia's view.
“Oh? The targets I prioritized should be those three over there… But, if you all somehow manage to defeat me, you will get a hefty bounty… Come, novice adventurers dreaming of getting rich instantly. Charge at me at once!”
Esora scoffs, ‘What is he shouting? Just because you are taunting them, no smart adventurer will attack an opponent stronger than them —'
“Hey, no matter how strong he is, he doesn’t have eyes on his back! Surround him and attack!” A random warrior shouted from Beldia's flank.
The Sage face-palmed herself, “Ah, so there is such a person… He even raised an obvious death flag.”
“Hey, the opponent is a Demon King’s General. How can such a simple tactic take him down!?” Kazuma shouted to warn the older Adventurer.
Esora scoots closer to the Adventurer and whispers, “What do you think we should do, Kazuma? Megumin-chan's out of mana, and Aqua-san's purification magic isn't strong enough to deal a fatal blow. Should we run?”
“Even if we do, Beldia seems like the type to chase us to the ends of the Earth to kill us. We have to deal with him here and now… somehow,”
“Somehow?!”
“We just need to buy more time! After hearing the emergency broadcast, the ace of this town will rush over! If that guy’s here, the Demon King’s General will be done for!”
‘The ace of this town? Was there such a strong and famous person? Also, why do I get a bad feeling...?’ Esora chews the bottom of her lip anxiously.
“Hey brothers, let’s go together! Aim for his blind spot! All at the same time!” The center most adventurer leads the charge to attack Beldia who throws his head high in the air.
“Why did he…?” Kazuma gets an unexplained chill when he looks at the head and his fight-or-flight instinct went off crazily. “I don't like this… Hey! Stay back!”
Kazuma's warnings fell on deaf ears since the adventurers were already too close to Beldia to back off.
As if he had 360° vision, Beldia dodges all attacks from the front and back like it was child's play. The Dullahan wields his greatsword with both hands and, in a blink of an eye, he slashes at all the adventurers that attacked him.
*THUD! THUD! THUD!*
“Huh? What happened?” Esora rubs her eyes as if she couldn't believe what she saw.
The adventurers who were just alive moments before, fell limply onto the ground with blood pooling around them.
“They're all dead…” Kazuma spoke while he stares at the bodies of the nameless adventurers. ‘It was all so sudden… How could anyone face against that monster?!’
“T-Trash like you…! Trash like you will be done with just a slash from Mitsurugi!” The female wizard that Megumin tried to use as a scapegoat a long time ago shouted in a high pitch.
Kazuma breaks into a cold sweat at the familiar name.
‘Mitsurugi? Isn't he the guy whose sword I took and sold?’
“That’s right, just hold on a bit longer! When that magic sword guy comes, he’ll definitely take on the Demon King’s General…”
“You’re Beldia, right? Let me tell you, there’s a powerful and high-level guy in this town!”
