When we were children, in fields we'd roam,

Underneath the endless blue dome.

With hearts so free and spirits wild,

We danced with laughter, just like a child.

In forests deep, we'd build our fort,

With sticks and leaves, our playful court.

Imagination was our greatest treasure,

In those days of innocent pleasure.

We'd chase the sun, and catch the breeze,

Climb the tallest of the trees.

Our dreams soared high, without a tether,

In a world where magic danced together.

With scraped-up knees and dirt-stained hands,

We'd explore the world's wonderlands.

Every moment a new adventure,

Every discovery a cause for rapture.

When we were children, time stood still,

Each day a canvas, ours to fill.

In innocence, we found our way,

In the golden light of yesterday.

When we were children, oh, how time flew,

In fields of gold, beneath skies so blue.

But now those days seem far away,

Lost in the mists of yesterday.

The laughter echoes faint and distant,

In the corners of memory, persistent.

Gone are the days of carefree delight,

Replaced by shadows in the fading light.

We chased our dreams with reckless grace,

But now they're lost in life's cruel race.

The playgrounds empty, the swings still,

A silent testament to time's cruel will.

Oh, how I yearn for those days of yore,

When innocence reigned forevermore.

But time has stolen that precious gleam,

Leaving behind a faded dream.
