Waverly Academy, established in 1702 by Gwendoline Lupton, was created to help bring together creatures and teach them how to control their abilities in order to fit in with the human world. Gwendoline is a Vampire herself, and she's still the headmaster of the school.
Currently there are ten different known species that attend the school. Those of which include:
Werewolves
Vampires
Mermaids
Faeries
Nymphs
Angels
Demons
Nephilims
Kitsunes
Witches
Each species has their own set of classes they must take their freshman and sophmore year. They are separated until their junior year, where they are then allowed to start taking classes with other species/students.

The year is 1999.
The class of 2000 has just entered their junior year of Waverly Academy. Most students ranging from ages 18-19(with the freshman enrollment age being 16-17).
We will be following the stories of Aurora Grace Blackwood and Wyatt Floyd Butler.
