Lightning flashed,
the thunder roared.
The clouds scattered
across the sky,
vanishing my room
in the dark.The clock tick-tocked
twelve,
yet my eyes are wide open.
Words formed
in my mind
and grew like a rose
with exquisite thorned
rhymes.I plucked it above my head
and held it with
my young dead bones
then whispered,
"I hope I'll remember you."Sunlight kissed my skull
and my sight landed
upon my palm.
The words turned
into nothing
but withered remnants.I tried to retrieve it all,
desperate to travel
to the past
but it has gone like a meteor
I failed to see.
Then the wind whispered
to my ear,
"Why did you forget me?"
