Chapter 25: Establishing Power

She headed to their spot with Arjun driving. She looked over and felt her self get a bit stuffy. He had one hand on her thigh and one hand on the wheel. There was nothing sexy about this, just something that made her feel very flustered but she couldn't think about that. She had things to set right with her family. Upon her return she had heard issues from her father and she had to set them right.

When they got there her hand reached the handle Arjun reached to her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"No let me do that" he said winking at her.
He was such a contrast to Asanka who had been rude and violent about a gesture that was supposed to be romantic. She couldn't help gleam as Arjun opened the door and said "me lady" in a weird old English accent. She giggled and took his hand.
"My Lord" she said impersonating him. He chuckled and helped her out of the car.

As they were walking in  she noticed Arjun was walking two paces behind her.
"Arjun get here" she said walking to him. He took another step back.
"I need to know my place and that's behind you in family settings" he said looking at her.
It hurt but he was right. Even a small thing like walking next to her could cause a stir. 

As she walked in she saw her cousins and brother. They were laughing and talking with each other. Even little Aki was there. When Lehna walked in the talking became silence and everyone turned to her. She saw Leela for a split second. She looked better from last time she had seen her.

"Welcome back sister" Leo shouted sounding drunk

She saw Noah, he was not looking her in her eyes. She knew exactly why.

"Everyone I called you because I have some serious updates about the company regarding our relationship.
Leo jeered. She rolled her eyes. She was not going to get wound up about this.
"From now on anything about the company you can book an appointment with my assistant from 8am to 3pm and I will meet you there" she said her voice as strong as she could keep it. She saw as Leo put his drink down and everyone sit up a little higher.
"Leo I saw you took 8 million out from the company  for what ever reason you have to pay that back by the end of next week or it's coming out of your share" she said fiercely at Leo. He began to protest but she held her hand up.
"You will speak when I'm done!"
Leo took an angry sip of his drink.
"Harvey you haven't finished your accounts that were due 3 days ago, I want them at dad's desk by 12pm today."
Harvey looked at her in a mix of emotions. Annoyed and also slightly impressed.
She didn't have anything to say to Leela specifically. Even though she would fuck other people's boyfriends she had an amazing work ethic and got her work done when it was needed.

"Things are going to look different around here and I might be your sister but that doesn't mean you can slack off your responsibilities and expect me to pick it up. Do you understand" she said commandingly. Her hands were behind her back while she stood tall. She could feel her hands tremble slightly.

Noah stood up and walked over to her. He stood a step away from her almost squaring up to her. He looked into her eyes like he was trying to find something. He finally said
"You look strong with him behind you" he said looking behind her.
She turned around and looked at Arjun. He understood and sat down away from her. She turned back around at Noah.
"I don't need a man to make me look strong, how do I look now" she said ready for him to say something witty. Surprisingly he turned around and was walking back to his seat.
"You were the only person I trusted properly when it came to business" she shouted to Noah. He paused and slowly turned to her.
"He told you" he said not looking at her.
"Did my father not tell me that you didn't believe I was the right heir for our company and you thought Leo was a better fit" she said anger putting out to him. "Yes he told me idiot" she said
He looked at her. "Yes I did, I don't believe you're the right fit for the company" he said confidently.
Harvey had gotten up to defend her. She waved at him to sit down.
"Look me in the eye and tell me you think Leo a drunk is a better fit for the company is better than me" she said in disbelief.
"I know your game Noah you want to use Leo to run the company, be a man and ask for the role your self" she spat at him.
"Hey I'm nobody's slut and I don't have one like you" Leo said rambling.
"Sorry" she said looking at him
"Yeah that bodyguard of yours, your both fucking aren't you, i see the way he looks at you, a shame doesn't know he's just a little slut not anything serious" he said sipping at his drink.

Everyone groaned in disbelief of how Leo thought of something crude when people's position of their livelihood was being discussed. She actually smiled thinking how spot on he was except for the last part that angered her.
"Noah sit down, Leo got over here" she said. Calling Leo over with a smile. Noah went and sat as Leo stood in front of her.
She wasn't done with Noah but she had to deal with Leo first
"Tell me Lehna, give me a prize for being right" he said leaning towards her.
She didn't know where the sudden urge of anger came from she raised her hand to slap him. The whole room went silent as Leo clutched to her cheek. She was so shocked  but she kept her composure.
"I'm your sister don't you ever forget that, don't forget who you're talking to" she said lowering to his height.
Leo stood back up. He cleared his throat and said " well good chat Lehna I'll get back to my seat" he said walking back.
She felt kind of bad now.

She looked at Leela. She was sat there wide eyed. No one knew her as much Leela. Leela knew how much bullshit Lehna would take and she would not bat an eye and here she was making her stand. Lehna smirked feeling proud for standing up for herself. She briefly looked back to see Arjun lightly nodding at her. That was all the confidence she needed to give her last bit.

"This is how things will be from no on, no one will ever doubt my position in this company" she said looking straight at Noah. "I deserve respect and that's what you will give me or I will take it" she said unable to stop " if anyone has any issues speak to me don't go behind my back is that clear" she said feeling confident.

That confidence was suddenly sucked out of her . She saw Leela standing up.
"Lehna you want us to be honest here I am. I've disrupted your claim. There's a board meeting next week to discuss it, I feel I'm a better fit for the company" she said not looking at her.
