Chapter 8: Tour

Radiance's POV

I looked up only to see Lucas' amused expression.

"You know I have to agree with her Derek," He started, "You are gay."

Derek's face was priceless. He got up, and glared at me.

"Good luck finding someone to replace me. I was going to braid your hair and paint your nails but now I'm not so sure." And he left with a huff. Lucas burst out laughing and I grinned. A genuine smile. He stopped and looked at me. I couldn't help but blush under the intensity of his gaze. Stella was howling with joy in me and encouraged me to lean in. But I didn't. 

"I want to get to know you." I stated quietly. I didn't know the tiniest bit about the guy and he's my mate for god's sake. 

"Alright. But unless you want to sit in the middle of the road and talk then I suggest we go to my place." He offered. I gestured for him to go and I followed absent mindlessly, allowing myself for the first time since I left my old house to let my mind wander off.

I was gawking at the house in front of me. We used to live in a mansion, but this... This was a freaking castle. It. Was. Huge. 

'Probably like Lucas' d-' 

'ZIP IT STELLA!'

I blocked her out, not wanting to hear any more of her perverted thoughts. I've been having a lot of those lately. Craving his touch, wanting to pounce on him. It's getting out of my control, but I can't afford doing something I would regret. He led me to a room. It was mostly navy blue, except for the bed and the rug who were black. It had a private bathroom, and a big TV installed on the wall in front of the bed. Bed.

Bed.

Bed.

"I can't remember the last time where I actually slept on a bed..." I muttered, more to myself than him. I could feel him staring at me, so I sat down on the floor, on the rug, and motioned him to sit in front of me.

"20 questions?" he asked. I nodded.

"Okay," he thought for a second, "Full name?"

"Radiance Eleanor Jade. Yours?"

"Lucas William Caine. Family status?"

"Deceased mother and lunatic father, single child. You?"

"Father and mother are both alive and.. well.. sane," he joked, "And I have two sisters."

For a second I envied him. His life was perfect. Healthy and normal parents, siblings to keep him company.. But I cleared those thoughts away. Mom always said to see the positive side of everything, even if darkness is engulfing me. 

"I have a question, but it's a bit personal.." he drifted off.

"What is it?"

"What was your mother like?" he asked nervously. I have to say his question caught me off guard. 

"I don't have a lot of memories with her since she died when I was 6, but," I took a shaky breath, "She was the most wonderful woman I had ever met in my life. She would never let anything get to her, and she was the kindest mother to be. She would stand up for what she believed in, and fight for it. Not only was she the best mom, but she was the best Luna. She would control my father when he would get angry and not bow to him when he used his Alpha voice on her. She was wise, saying quotes that would fill my heart with hope whenever I felt down, and always leaving me wondering after our conversations." I said. I didn't notice I was crying until I hiccuped. Lucas hugged me, and we stayed like that. We were sitting on the floor leaning on the bed. That was extremely smart of me..

Yes Radiance, make him sit on the cold hard floor instead of the warm inviting bed, because fuck logic am I right?

I decided, just for once, to let myself melt in his arms, without trying to get away. Just this once.

Oh how I hope this once will last forever...

Okay so the next few chapters will be a bit boring with no real action happening (BUT THERE WILL BE FEELS) and then I'll spice things up a little. (Not like that you perverts!)
